I haven't heard of LBP, I'll go look it up. In case I can't find anything on it, what is LBP.

LittleBigPlanet.

How is Home going to bring Sony money....Are they going to charge for it?

I agree, Bitmap, that Microsoft isn't doing everything they should. It should be a service where "anything goes" - The problem is that about 30-40% of what has been put on XBLA is crap, and it clogs up the virtual retail space - Imagine the same number of copies of "My Barbie Ultimate Adventure" next to the same number of copies of Wii Fit, or Halo 3.

Microsoft SHOULD fix UI issues, and be all-inclusive with the service. Unfortunately, they aren't doing that, and that's a big, stupid issue that I think Microsoft is going to hurt themselves on.

However, it's still a service where smart, indie developers can make quality games and do very, very well against the big boys - You know it's a different playing field when the top 2 games in revenue (as of late) come from The Behemoth, who have 1 shipped retail title, and a 1-man team with Braid..All the while Braid has outsold Bionic Commando on all 3 services in terms of revenue. That's why Microsoft's system is working well - because there's absolutely no way that Braid could of outsold BC:R in the real world - It would of been Okami'd.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Am I the only one who got an odd image in their mind from the title?

Former something....

LOL!!

Stickball's comments are right on. It is however true as the article points that XBLA isn't anymore what it was at launch and that MS has clamped down on the service - people like Treasure (for example) are having all their XBLA pitchings shoot down because MS has now decided it wants a "direction" for the service, whatever it is... They also announced recently they are removing from the service poorly-performing games, which is another shot in the dark. They are aware their original "unlimited shelf, no entry barrier" approach isn't forward but seem to be lost as what to make out of it.

Microsoft said that with the fall update that a "delisting" process might not be necessary now.  The main problem they said was the inability to organize the large amount of content that was continuing to grow in the XBLA library.  Granted it could still happen but it seems less likely than before.

They've said they're confident they can make enough revenue from selling ad space in Home. Plus there probably will be a lot of microtransaction stuff for people who want to buy love seats and wall-mounted marlins and whatnot for their virtual homes.

Regarding XBLA: the fall update is supposed to fix these UI issues, right? If so, the reason they were going to delist games in the first place goes right out the window.
