wow. RB exclusivity would be pretty big. Not as huge as alot of other games, but Rock Band (imo) has the potential to bring alot of people, and could counter the whole wiisplosion.

RB could sell ~3m copies in all of it's itenerations, or more. GH2 has done real well thus far on 360, and RB could just increase the fever pitch of titles like that.

The only problem is that Guitar Hero 2 was $80US/$100Can but Rock Band will cost $80US just for the guitar, $80US for the drums, and $30US for the microphone (if the pricing that was leaked on the Internet is to be believed) and that apparently doesn't include the actual game which would likely be another $40. I can see some of the people who bought Guitar Hero 2 buying it but I can't see a lot of people spending $400 for a console and then another $200 or more for the game and the peripherals. Of course considering the PS3 sold a fair amount at a similar asking price I could be wrong about how many people would buy it.

I could almost see a $450 Rock band Package for the 360.  It would be cool if the branded the 360 case with the Fender logo.  I don't think that this game has to sell as much as other games to get back their investment because it costs so much per sale.  Plus, this game is addicitive.  They will hook a lot of people on this Growing Genre.

Right now I will treat this as a rumor, but if it is true then it will be very interesting to see how MS handles this.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

I don't know why they would limit themselves to one platform. It made sense for the original GH, since the PS2 was so completely dominant. Doesn't make sense now.

Thin ground for a "news " .
It could be a great exclusitivy ,although the price will hurt it becoming mainstream at first .

But ,I have to say ,I am started to become pissed about MS using their money and perjudice the PS3 users by delaying the games on Sonys plattform .

Not even close to the coup of pulling GTA IV to 360, but it's still soemthing. I heard rumors of a timed exclusive too lately. It's a so so big game. I mean it is being hyped a lot and has MTV and EA backing it, but is it gonna beat Guitar Hero?

I think either way it's gonna be a timed exclusive with MS touting it at E3, but not really a big deal in my opinion. This isn't the kind of game that's gonna make people buy 360s, there is guitar hero which is the same thing and on all platforms so dunno why this is so huge...

MS is running out of stuff to moneyhat lol.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

The other issue with RB is that the peripherals are rather pricey, so whatever system the customer buys them on first will likely be the sytem the customer stays with for all future titles in the series. Plus, I imagine other rythym games might want to license use of those peripherals, as well. So its liable to be a huge software seller over the course of a system's life.

IMO, I think one major reason MS would try to get RB exclusive on the 360: Online. MS definately has the assets and power to get RB to major star status with online implementation of the game.

By far, RB would be able to do very very well on the X360 XBL platform, far better than Wii/PS3, and that could be a major coup point in the X360s favor.

IMO, the prices do absolutely suck. I hope that isn't the case.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
