Biggest runaway hit -- Either Braid or WiiFit, probably WiiFit.
Biggest flop -- could be Too Human but for the moment I'm going to give it to Haze

Biggest Flop: At the mooment definately Haze
Biggest Hit: Mario Kart Wii, that game just sales so amazingly
A major flop for last year (in terms of sales) was Zack and Wiki. It's a shame, it was a great game.
# of games above 75 on Metacritic (including downloadable):
360: 241 DS: 144
PS3: 152 PSP: 126
Wii: 85

Maybe MP3, but who knows... 08- Biggest Flop (IMO) is Ninja Gaiden 2, I do not care how much you wanna say it is too HC or Niche it had way to much hype to sell just.... ok. Biggest Runaway Hit- Tie... between WiiFit and MKWii... Although I would give the edge to MKWii, NO ONE expected it to sell so much already... it is selling 150-200k a week after 4-5 months, and it will hit 10 million before Cmas... WiiFit was "kinda" expected. Well that is where I would put it, what do you think? |
Are you referring to games released in 2008? COD4 wasnt....
Haze hasnt sold totally badly....but it was a big letdown.
Lots of games have sold well. GTA4, MGS4, Mario kart....its a tough call

I'd say it's a toss up between the two for flop of 07. Call of Duty 4 definitely was 07's runaway success. That thing still sells good, and the online community is plentiful. I forgot about Haze. That would definitely be 08's biggest flop to date. In September, we should find out how Too Human did. |
Heavenly sword has over a million in sales and counting. A sequel is not in development because the developer decided to pursue multiplatform development. Its certainly not a flop by any stretch of the imagination.
Alone in the Dark was expected to sell 3 million and save Atari from bankruptcy.
