Hmmm, I wouldn't mind. While Square's recent actions have been a bit...questionable, they still are one of the most talentes companies out there. And I haven't played any of Tecmo games, but Ninja Gaiden seems like a great series, so the dev team must be talented. If the merger means more Tecmo games for non Microsoft consoles (I always wanted to play NG), I give my approval

Ouch. Tecmo is an incredible developer. SquareEnix... not so much. It would be a same if Ubisoft took over Capcom. No one would be happy if that happened.

Team Ninja is probably already in the toilet, so I don't see much loss here. It may end up giving us Tecmo games on a more regular basis.

I remember reading something that Capcom executives were making a anti takeover plan. It sucks that more and more companies can`t keep up and end bough by larger souless companies. Tecmo isn`t even a micro/small company.

I wonder if everyone has forgotten that Tomonobu Itagaki has left Tecmo. I wonder if everyone has forgotten what he said about the company. A little something about the company having a hostile environment, and that they were not paying bonuses that they promised. I am not so worried about Tecmo as I am worried for Square. They could end up snatching up a powder keg likely to explode.

I honestly cannot see how this could or would be a positive step for Square. There are many developers with fewer issues that would be better acquisitions.

Depends. If this will bring Mr. Itagaki back, then yes. If it will **** up Ninja Gaiden and Dead or alive(or turn them into mediocre RPGs) then no. However, a Ninja Gaiden RPG with its absolutely stunning battle system is more then welcome.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Meh. Tecmo isn't that good. Not really bothered.

Be realstic, it has nothing to do with how good or bad Tecmo's dev team is.

It is all about the IPs.

Wii - New Super Mario Bros. Wii
DS - Glory of Heracels

Cool does this means ninja gaiden for the wii?

@ctk: No it means that if this happens, Ninja Gaiden will have less of a chance to get released on Wii than before. Seeing that Tecmo had FF4, Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff, Rygar and SPRay planned for Wii. Those games will be in risk if SE takes over.
