FYI De85

1) Saints Row 2 is coming to PS3, Dead Rising probably will too

2) Lost Planet, Bioshock are on PS3

3) Many have suggested Mass Effect will come also, as the IP is now owned by EA

4) Gears is on PC too (Epic owns IP), and MS will prob have to pay Epic big bucks to make sure it doesn't eventually come to the PS3.

Bioshock was announced for the 360 only they later decided due to sales to port over to PS3, Saints Row was an exlusive thought Saitns Row 2 is coming to thePS3.  At this time Mass ffect and Gears are a console exclusive just to clear this up

First of all, both Gears of War and Mass Effect are out on PC, and for a while as well. Also these games, as well as BioShock, Saints Row 2, etc... are not first party games, so I don't know where you get your sense from.

Also I believe Sony has the best first-party support out of the three with lots of great original new IPs as well as old franchises, hopefully we'll see more sequels to their older franchises such as Jak & Daxter, Ape Escape, etc...

Well Sony's first party titles are not that great (Gran Turismo is the only massive one) and i think that's the main problem. How many PS2 or PS3 owners actually bought their console because of Sony games? Hardly anyone, Sony's key to success was amazing 3rd party support during PS1 and PS2 timess. I've played few sony's games this gen , and R&C is awesome , but the rest are simply not great.

Nintendo 1st party is just different quality, unreachable quality for SCE.

GT5 is a system seller but we have no idea when that is coming out and God of War is going to be huge

Yeah I would say if anything can push consoles both those games would be bg for Sony

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Maybe you should google all of the Nintendo games, many of them are average at best.

Sony built the ps3 on new Ips like Uncharted, Resistance, Motorstorm, and Heavenly Sword, Now they have LBP and Infamous. What are you smoking? M$ and Nintendo need to take a page from their book instead of releasing sequels all the time.

Honestly all teh games I've listed are Million Sellers what more could you want?

Your thinking is so narrow minded I don't even know where to begin.

To start with, Microsoft has plenty of new IP's on the 360 like Gears, Mass Effect, Dead Rising, Bioshock, Lost Planet, Saint's Row... all of which sold over a million so your point is meaningless.

Secondly, the 360 is not the only platform receiving big name sequels, or haven't you heard of MGS4, GT5, Killzone 2, etc...

Just take the fanboy glasses off and you'll see a surprising amount of equity between the sequel/new IP lineups between the PS3 and 360.

gears 1-2 are exclusive but 3 its rumored it wont

mass effect 2-3 same as gears only the first one is exclusive, multiplatform rumored

dead rising they are making a wii version

bioshock on ps3 oct 24

lost planet- on the ps3 too

saint row 2 -  on the ps3 too.

I find it exceedingly unlikely that FFXIII will sell 7 million worldwide; that would imply an attach rate that no video game has ever achieved without being bundled with the system. Even FF7 didn't come close, and even Halo 2 (probably the game with the highest attach rate in industry history, not counting pack-ins) didn't manage THAT much.

Likewise with the '3 million in Japan alone' figure, seeing as there aren't even that many PS3s in Japan at this point. One must also take into account the fact that big-name HD titles don't sell all that many additional consoles at release, either on the PS3 or the 360. The fans of these titles didn't wait for their favorite games to be released before getting the machines, and that gave early sales a great boost but now it is coming back to bite the console makers.

Bottom line: at least on the HD consoles, the era of the "system seller" as we once knew it is over, and even FFXIII won't bring it back. People buy HD consoles in a different way from how they used to, and the market needs to adapt to this new behavior.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.
