Forums - Sony - the problem with ps3 1st party games is....

I agree, I want the new IP's that they are making to evolve into big franchises that could be systme sellers. But I don't know because it's also nice to have fresh new IP's instaed of just sequels...

New games have greater chances early in the life cycle of a console. Because Hardcore gamers are willing to accept these games more than casual gamers. There is also less competition from huge titles of last generation. That's the reason why Resistance and Uncharted are developed before R&C and Jak.

"i wish i could turn back the time and tell them to finsih KZ development before releasing it , that would've made KZ2 a big system seller"

Killzone was released on PS2, I don't know what you mean.

 i never played KZ

people say that it was unfinished game and could've been AN EXCELLENT game

if it was an excellent game , KZ2 would've been a certain success and may be a system seller

sorry , can't explain any better :(

How many copies must have a game sold on the PS2 for its sequel to be a possible system seller for the PS3?

 don't know :S

Sony built the ps3 on new Ips like Uncharted, Resistance, Motorstorm, and Heavenly Sword, Now they have LBP and Infamous. What are you smoking? M$ and Nintendo need to take a page from their book instead of releasing sequels all the time.

Honestly all teh games I've listed are Million Sellers what more could you want?

Your thinking is so narrow minded I don't even know where to begin.

To start with, Microsoft has plenty of new IP's on the 360 like Gears, Mass Effect, Dead Rising, Bioshock, Lost Planet, Saint's Row... all of which sold over a million so your point is meaningless.

Secondly, the 360 is not the only platform receiving big name sequels, or haven't you heard of MGS4, GT5, Killzone 2, etc...

Just take the fanboy glasses off and you'll see a surprising amount of equity between the sequel/new IP lineups between the PS3 and 360.

and i love the way sony is heading right now,

but obiously i couldn't deliver my point , i just meant that sequals have much better chances to be system sellers, better than new IPs, even if the new IP are better games

u get my point?

i'm not saying make them all sequals

just some of them

Resistance , KZ ,LBP , motorstorm

new IPs -for me- are hotter

I'm not that familiar with the Wii's lineup so I intentionally left it out.  Someone who owns a Wii could do it though.

Theres nothing wrong with PS3 1st party games. They sell systems. Just wait for the sales boost for the PS3 during LBP release week, and then the same again when Resistance 2 releases

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD
