Forums - Microsoft - Infinite Undiscovery Review IGN 7.1/10

Two more reviews are up:

Gamepro - 3/5

PROS: Beautiful graphics and innovative Connect system are bright points.
CONS: Linear gameplay, flat characters and story, terrible slowdown.

"Infinite Undiscovery had all of the ingredients for a potentially legendary role playing experience. Backed by world renowned publisher Square Enix and helmed by famed developer Tri-Ace of Star Ocean fame, the title has been garnering massive amounts of attention for its various claims of innovation, originality and forward thinking concepts. Unfortunately, the final product never instills anything but a "been there, done that" feeling with a mediocre effort that fails to please.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Oh, what could have been! An RPG with this kind of pedigree should have been something Xbox 360 owners could be proud of; instead, it disappoints and is yet more proof that the 360 needs more quality RPGs and fast. Keep your fingers crossed, 360 fans, that Final Fantasy XIII delivers the goods."

Gamesradar - 7/10

You'll love:
- Great art style overall
- Intriguing story and universe
- Main character and his squeeze are actually likable

You'll hate:
- Choppy, unfun combat
- Trying to block any attack and inevitably failing
- Uneven graphics

Gamesradar is the only one that complained about the combat so far. Everything else seems fine. Still, I'll probably rent it before buying it.

Ouch, that's gotta hurt

IU really isn't as good as it could of been

Getting near Too Human...

As in go buy us some coffee.

Vindication confirmed. Hillary wasn't just blowing smoke as some people claimed.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Haze gets bad reviews "I told you this game was gonna suck"

IU gets a mediocre review "The reviewer is stupid"

Such hypocrisy.

Oh yeah, whoever said that "not everyone agrees with the review, Famitsu gave (whatever the score was), Famitsu also gave Lair and Haze like a 34/40

The only Famitsu scores that matter anymore are 40's, everything else is for sale...

Famitsu rates a lot of JRPGs higher than Western Critics. One example is Blue Dragon(10/9/9/9=37/40). Also, they base their scores on hype and something else but I can't think of it.

actually it appears that the combat is very good, and the slowdown issues are as usual with the pre-gold build. Good reviewers recognize this and know the slow down is not an issue.

So good reviewers know to ignore slow down entirely since its a pre-gold build? I dont think all developers wait until the last minute to fix slow down issues. So what if there is an instance where the gold build does continue to have slow down issues? You see where your whole argument is completely flawed?

I dont even know what this thread is talking about in general, lol, but I skipped to the last page and this non-sense is the first thing I saw.

I can't believe Gamepro game this game a 3/5 though. Thats a low blow

Well, it look like this game will get around 7 across the board. Not great score but I don't think 7 is bad. Most JRPG is around 7 - 8 as far as average score, only FF tends to get 9. So it's good 7 not great 8 or excellent 9.
