Forums - Nintendo - rumour: new DS model to have both screens with touch functionality

Two touch screens doesn't seem too practical to me, but then again two screens didn't seem very practical before the DS was released either ...

My expectation for the next DS would be a system with internal hardware based on the Gamecube/Wii, which would mean Nintendo could use the exact same tools to develop games for both the Wii and their new handheld (and they would be able to port many Gamecube games to their new system to produce a large library of good games that sold well); it would most likely be a clamshell design, with (at least) one multi-touch screen, and it would (probably) include a few new input mechanisms (like motion controll for tilt/rotation).

Around the Network

there is no reason for a DS upgrade to 2 screens... anygame using it would not be retro compatible with other DSes that is dumb.... and seeing as DS sales; I doubt nont is going to get a DS2 out next year either.

Who knows, maybe it's a sony rumor to hinder DS sales over christmass? (sounds about as credible to me)

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Sounds like complete BS to me it would be pointless and any game that had used both would have to be played on a newer DS and i doubt nintendo would abandon there 70 million userbase to add an extra touch screen

^great way to get free games and accessories for PS3,360,Wii,PSP and DS. Residents of US,UK,CANADA and AUSTRALIA (It actually Works i have done it and their is testimonials with pics)
