Forums - Sony - Why all the Sony hate?

^^ you alwais have to go one step to far don´t you Kwaad, yes we all hate Sony, for me it´s personal, one night Sony came to my village and burned everything, then Sony raped the horses and rode of on the women, but your kind of hatred even makes me sick.

But seriously if you hate a piece of electronics or an international company they must have eather attacked you personally or you should rethink your priorities in life. Just my opinion, hatred is a very strong word and should only be used against something you really really can´t stand. Not just something you don´t agree with.

If you replace hate with like in my post it's accurate. I just mock the anti-sony people, becuase it's funny.

There is much more hate in some of the Sony fanboys, as demonstrated by this poster and others like Larry/Hus/etc.

Also many online media are run from the US, this may be a reason why the PS3 and Sony is getting more crap than Microsoft and the XBox 360 which is a US company. One thing I am sure about if Sony would have released a PS3 console as unreliable as the XBox 360 the internet would have exploded with outrage.

Actually, they did. It was called the PS2.

Don't forget the PSX!  :)  Seriously, the first run of the original Playstation was the worst piece of gaming hardware I've ever seen.  Stops working after half an hour unless you run it upside-down...

Heheh, forgot about the PSX problems. Running it propped against a wall, upside down, etc. People were doing some goofy stuff to keep that system running.

@ Kwaad

I know, the big red sacasm sigh over you post was so bright I just had to try to top it, and yes mocking people who are against everything that isn´t doing so well is funny, but some people have a reason to dislike Sony so they can show that if they want to. Its just the blind hate that bothers me. Like that form SleepyK, Nintendo didn´t overhype the Wii, the poeple who like the Wii hype it.

@ SleepyK

If your first post sounds like that we won´t be seeing much of you so ceep the hate to a minimum and try useing an argument or two, it helps.

See? I have a point :P

I have a dislike for Nintendo as of lately, because their buisness model, has been based around makeing money, and not around makeing great games. Their going away from great games, to mini-games, and things my 4 year old family members would have fun with. I played Final Fantasy 4 when I was 8. I want to see stuff 2x more advanced, and yet, that stuff dont exist today. Nintendo, is makeing stuff 8x simpler.

Sony is makeing stuff similar in terms of complexity. Now I'm not saying sony is god, and they make amazing games every time. They dont.

I am probibally gonna buy a 2000$ sony camcorder here in 6months to a year. I've never had a problem with a sony product and from what I've read, their not that hard to work with.

Those of you sony haters out there. I really dont understand why you hate sony as a whole. Especially considering the major changes they have been going through over the last 12 months, and more are coming. Their a totally new entity almost.

Releasing your console at twice the cost of previous iterations tends to alienate your customers.

Furthermore, making assinine quips about "take up two jobs to afford it" only makes you seem more out of touch.

These two things tend to piss off formerly dedicated customers, especially when there are alternatives just as good.

IllegalPaladin First I want to comment on that, I think that's an absurd thing to say because a video card for gaming to play those games with the best graphics and performance costs $600 or even $800 (the 8800 GTX and Ultra). Not to mention that CPU to be able to make use of that awesome video card will cost around $1000 (Core 2 Extreme 6800). Those are just two components, there are many more things you'd have to buy for that gaming PC too that would probably run you up to $2000-3000+ and $600 vs $3000 (not even sure if that covers monitor(s) to make use of all that power either)???

I think its absurd to say that a decent gaming rig is going to cost well over $1000. You can get a very good GPU and CPU for around $200-250 each that can run said games at atleast medium-high setting. Sure, if you like your games at a resolution of 1200+ then you'll need a 8800ultra in SLI, but something more reasonable 768 or 1024 can get you high in most options from a mid-range card.

Regarding other components, it really depends on how far you wan't to go. If you already have a PC, you can easily use that for case/mouse/DVD drive/ect. If you wan't a fancy LCD then that will be costly, but since everyone here is posting online it means you already have a PC moniter. Beyond that, you could make the same argument that you have to purchase a $2000+ 1080p LCD to get the most out of a PS3.

Essentially, PC gaming is a lot cheaper than most people think it is, especially console fans.

"Why do they call it the xbox 360? Because when you see it, you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away"

I don't rally hate them, I'm just a Nintendo fan that has been ridiculed by PlayStation fans for half a decade. Now that the tables are turned it's hard not to turn to those same people and just say "Ha"

On the gaming PCs thing, I've seen very nice ones built (even with the new DX10 cards) for under $2000.

But that was my point. I know that a gaming PC is much more than $600, but both strike me as an unreasonably large sum of money to spend to play games, and I'd rather spend the $1000 extra for a gaming PC. I mean, I'll need at least an $800 or so computer in the next year or so for reasons aside from gaming, and I'd rather spend an extra $800 to $1000 on beefing it up than on a PS3. I've just never seen consoles as the place for cutting edge games - my friends who are big into PC games have always had something bigger and shinier - and that seems to be what the PS3 is trying to offer.
