Nintendo Answers. Fatal Frame IV’s US Release Date

Dolphinking of the IGN forums recently sent an email to Nintendo of America asking about Fatal Frame IV’s release date and, unfortunately for fans, Nintendo’s response isn’t good news.

It appears Nintendo have no plans on an American release date at present, and rather confusingly mention that they might have plans on developing/publishing the game in future (despite the game being a third-party title that has already been developed by Tecmo).

While Nintendo’s reply was most likely an automatically generated email, it’s a shame that Nintendo of America still hasn’t any plans for a release in America yet, despite the game having been out in Japan for almost a month now.

Nintendo worked with Tecmo I think for the Japanese release.

So I guess they might make a US release happen.

Not necessarily. Remember Doshin the Giant for Gamecube? Europe got it first and in fact America never got this game.

yes but i dought we would be so lucky, this game is not that known over here so I think there is a small chamce Europe won´t see it at all.

How can they not release it in other territories? FFIV needs more sales.

I always thought the Project Zero games were well known.

I might be wrong but when I talk to fellow gamers around here in sweden and in the southern europe I seem to be the only one that has played it, haven´t done any big research on it though.

Because a guy named Dolphinking is the official spokesperson of IGN, that Nintendo speaks with regularly. *rolls eyes* Cmon now, Nintendo only gives key info away at press releases, not because some gamer contacted them about it. This is non-news until they come out and say it in a press release.Otherwise, we might as well get Crazzyman's input that the Wii will stop selling forever in 2009. ;)

Further supporting this is the fact that the response he got was clearly canned ("dear sir/madam/thing, we can not confirm or deny that we are/were developing/publishing whatever game you wrote about. Make sure to join the Nintendo Club today for great prizes.")
