Forums - Nintendo - Overlord Wii videos.

Is it just me or the second video doesn't have any shadows while the first one has beautiful detailed shadows? Hope that's just the beta thing.

Game looks beautiful, devs obviously haven't heard that it is forbidden to make good-looking games on Wii.

My computer has no sound....what is the jist of what they are saying?

Despite what I said before, this game looks great. I just hope the gameplay is good. The environments are great and the character models are good enough. The animation could be further refined but whatever.

It's not just you.

I'm guessing to allow more stuff, they optimize by picking and choosing which effects to use at what time.

Good eye.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Question that is kind of related...

Should i purchase the original Overlord? Would it be a good idea if i decide to get this one?

Just kiss the tip.

I heard the original was a good game, but brought down by bugs and control issues. This game is a prequel. They say there will be common threads weaving the stories together, so players of the original Overlord will be able to pick up on certain things, but I don't think that missing the first Overlord will dampen your enjoyment of this one.

From IGN Hands-on

On the 360, PC, and PS3 the Overlord's minion cap is 50. Here on the Wii, because of less processing power, that cap is currently at 25. The developers are tweaking the game to see if they can't raise that number a tad.

The early level we played took us through familiar obstacles, if you've played Overlord. Gameplay could be described as evil Pikmin. Your minions will dispose of enemies, flip switches for you, and move boulders out of the way. While some adversaries have been reused, like the beetles, new ninja-like bad guys are also present. We encountered a pretty impressive golem boss that was three times as tall as the Overlord. Our minions overpowered it, and the creature fell backwards into a pit, creating a bridge to reach the next area. Nice.

I'm really expecting this game. The x360 is really good
