You mean they aren't already here in the new 60GB?? well... not waiting for the chipset after Jasper..... just gonna get a psp and some games then....

Yes... you probably don't want to wait. Early September is so far away...

Yep. I was thinking they were already here. Am not getting a Jasper at all. I was waiting for the Unit "AFTER" Jasper. But seeing as how Jasper isn't even here... am just going to move on to something else......

The unit AFTER jasper will prolly be the successor to the 360.  It would be smart to wait a few weeks after the price drop to let the existing inventory cycle through the the OP said.  I can't complain, I got an Elite model with the Falcon chipset last X-mas and had no problems or issues whatsoever, and although its still possible, very few people have gotten the RROD with the Falcon models compared to the older ones.

It remains to be seen if Jasper is fully RROD proof, but either way you're covered so there's no reason not to pick one up after the price drops... $199 for the base model is almost a steal considering the severely underpowered Wii will still be at $249 soley due to the ridiculous demand for it.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Finally fixed something that should have never happened in the first place.

Win?

Funny.  You didn't take the same attitude in Burgles thread a minute ago when you implied customers should be grateful Sony finally included rumble in the PAL PS3.

Tons different.

If you don't have a DS3, you're still entirely capable of playing a game.

If you have RRoD, are  you still capable of playing a game?

To be fair, both Sony & MS have spent much of the generation fixing their own fuck ups. With MS, it was obviously the RRoD. With Sony, they launched with no rumble, a completely half-assed PSN, and later removed BC. Now it appears that software BC is on the way.

Both companies deserve a lot of flak for the things they have done in the past three years. Picking on MS for the RRoD and ignoring Sony's own transgressions with tossing a $600 unfinished PS3 on the market is rather hypocritical (and not to mention, completely ignores Sony and their horrible reliability with early PS1s and PS2s).

Oh of course.

I'm not picking on one company over the other, just bringing starcraft's comment into context.

Sony has messed up tons this generation, and previous generations too, and is fixing that, which is fine, but again, nothing to the scale of RRoD.

I never go for the basic model. But I mite go for a Premium or Elite when there are enough titles that I want [10].

4 ≈ One

Waiting for a Jasper is nothing like it was with the Falcon.

Last year, if you didn't get a Falcon, you were going to get one of the old, unreliable Xenon systems that had the atrocious fail rates.

Although everyone *should* get a Jasper since it improves on the X360's design...Just getting a Falcon won't be too bad of a deal. Falcons already fixed the RROD, Jasper merely improves on everything else, with a 65nm GPU.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

FAIL. MS has been rolling motherboard upgrades yearly, are you implying they releasing the 720 in 2009?.

The guy who leaked every motherboard revision already has leaked next year's 360 revision. They will keep pumping motherboard revisions as long as the 360 sells because each revision means less manufacturing costs.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

So its 65nm Xenon and 65nm Xenos vs 45nm CELL and 65nm RSX. This is interesting.
