Forums - Gaming - Do you like the Street Fighter IV art style?

I don't, I would have preferred the inky style from the trailer

Some of the "inky style" is still in the game. All hits and specials feature the ink slashes. Watch gameplay videos to see it in action.

I don't mind the style, but I also would have preferred a more glossied up Steet Fighter II Turbo HD Remix sprite look. Maybe something along the lines of BlazBlue.

It's not bad,but i dont like it that much.
But maybe most of the fans will love it.

I'm a fan..... I dont' like it. I'm willing to put that aside if it plays like Street Fighter 3 + 1

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I like it when it's in motion, because you see less of the awkwardness of it all.

Things I don't like:
- Stupid monkey faces and the exaggerated look
- Most characters look like throbbing blocks of muscle as opposed to human beings (or martial artists for that matter) the exception being viper and chun li, except Chun Li looks like a throbbing block of muscle with a human top half attached.

You dont really notice the exaggerated expressions when playing it.

Even so, I dont like the overall art direction at all.

Whenever I see SFIV pictures, I get the image of a graphic designer with a bicycle pump labelled "Steroids" attached to Ryu slowly pumping it making Ryu bigger and bigger until the management gave a thumbs up...

I think if they pumped his muscles any more he'd implode...

not really

nintendo fanboy, but the good kind

proud soldier of nintopia

Think it looks ok not to terrible but im gonna buy the game anyway.

Yes and no.

The colours and everything else about the style looks nice, but the character models are horrible. I guess the Japanese devs thought they'd bulk the characters up in order to appeal to Western audiences, but they're really, really overdoing it...

Definitely not digging the style. Those character models passed the threshold from 'badass' to 'ridiculous' to 'shoot-me-im-a-freak' long ago.
