Nintendo or MicroSoft didn't fuck up.
Nintendo never claimed to have 1:1 accuracy. They made an improvement and that's awesome, but they weren't lying.
MicroSoft is famous for shitty D-Pads and never claimed the 360 would have a good D-Pad. They made an improvement and that's awesome, but they weren't lying.
It's not like Nintendo said "1:1 is last gen!" or MicroSoft said "Good D-Pads are last gen!"
That's Sony's game, because they decide when the next gen starts, and well, we're all still waiting for it.
Better question, why is Wii Motion+ considered redefining the controller. It is just another in the long list of add-ons the wiimote can have. The only company that seems to have updated their controller is Sony which is the result of the lawsuit over rumble.
I thought Nintendo stated that eventually all controllers will be MotionPlus from the start.
Well i think its the first time all the company's do it,but it's not the first time only one does it,as i think Sony did it with the PS1 controller and added analog.

It has never been stated by any Nintendo rep as far as I know. Much like the assumption that the wiimote was supposed to be 1:1 from the start this is a myth put out and maintained by people just making assumptions based on what they think must be true.

I could have sworn that I saw a statement to that effect, but now all I could find is Iwata's words that it will be cheap and a good interview with Cammie saying the same thing on Wired (was that one ever posted here?).

The masses once thought that the earth was flat. With all this "We were duped into believing it was 1:1" is just sony fanboy's trying to claim something happened that actually didn't.

I agree with this. I vouch as a witness that I see far more Sony/MS(Sony more) fans complain about Wiimote not being more accurate. I have seen strong Sony fans own a Wii. It's just that they are still stronger Sony fans.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
Uhm, PS1 modifidied theirs, Nintendo 64 had the STarFox 64 add-on, hte original Xbox changed it's size.

I don't know if this is right, but in 2006 weren't gyroscopes(what wii motion plus has to acheive 1:1 or close to 1:1) extremely expensive? I mean even more expensive than the Wii mote is sold for? I'm sure even if Nintendo wanted to, they couldn't because of the price.

In 2006 not only were the mems expensive but they also would have sucked the batteries in a matter of under 5 hours. A recent upgrade in the mems gyroscopes cut their energy use down a LOT.
