MotionPlus is an add-on. The hardware that comes out of the box when purchased is still going to be the same Wii remote that it's always been.

MotionPlus will eventually become the standard in Wiimotes.
The Wiimote has not changed and the Xbox 360 change is a limited edition model.

THIS!!!! exactly, nintendo didnt promise 1:1 idk where people got the idea they did. So when people say nintendo fail, lied, didnt keep its promise .... ITs all BS, because nintendo didnt say that.

I don't know if this is right, but in 2006 weren't gyroscopes(what wii motion plus has to acheive 1:1 or close to 1:1) extremely expensive? I mean even more expensive than the Wii mote is sold for? I'm sure even if Nintendo wanted to, they couldn't because of the price.

Basically when i got the wii i thought it traccked ever moion thats why Wii Boxing Fucking sucked and pissed me off!
Nintendo is the only company not to change the primary design of thier controller this generation. Wii Motion+Plus is just a peripheral addition to the pre-existing controller.
In fact Nintendo is the driving force that has caused the competition to step up and change their controller. Nintendo is in a way, the industry leader now. Sony shot themselves in the foot trying to copy motion controls with the Six-Axis and now both Sony and MS are trying to implement motion controls for their consoles.
+1 for Wii motion plus being a peripheral, not an upgraded controller
The SIXAXIS to dualshock is a controller upgrade.
The new 360 controller with the changed plus pad is not a controller upgrade, it's a limited edition thing. The controller they started the gen with will still be the main controller
