Nintendo is the only company not to change the primary design of thier controller this generation. Wii Motion+Plus is just a peripheral addition to the pre-existing controller.
In fact Nintendo is the driving force that has caused the competition to step up and change their controller. Nintendo is in a way, the industry leader now. Sony shot themselves in the foot trying to copy motion controls with the Six-Axis and now both Sony and MS are trying to implement motion controls for their consoles.
