Looking at the last 2 generations of Game Boys, both Game Boy and Game Boy Color ended their lives overseas in the second quarter. Game Boy Advance is following the same trend. It is now sold only overseas, and we are in the second quarter now. This will be the FINAL quarter Game Boy Advance sales are reported by Nintendo. It will either end at the current 81.24 million, or slightly higher since they are still selling them (minimally) elsewhere. If they sell 70,000 more to stores between July and September, it would give total lifetime Game Boy sales 200 million. I imagine this is the mark they want to end at, since this is the final quarter Game Boy Advance is seen in stores. So, R.I.P. Game Boy, you had a great run, but it all comes to an end when you turn 20.

On a side note, the Nintendo DS is fastly approaching Game Boy Advance's sales mark, and in the next financial report, Nintendo should announce that Nintendo DS has passed Game Boy Advance in lifetime sales, making the DS Nintendo's number one system.

R I P Game boy. You brought some great moments. (and some cash for ninty.)

Interesting. I still wonder if they will ever revive the brand "Game Boy" because there's so much potential in it.

The GBA was truly a great handheld and the first one that brought epic moments in a huge number onto the road. The normal GB had a few epic games, but it needed power about equaly to that of the SNES to make really epic games, especially RPG's possible. The DS is on track to become the handheld with the best gaming library, but imo, it hasn't passed the GBA yet.

So after the GBA's are dead, Nintendo will only be producing Wii's and DS's. Good memories from my GBC and my GBA :')
