Best Game: Metroid Prime. Mmm Mmm Good!
Best New Franchise: Okami. Chicken Soup for the Gamer's Soul.
Best game - Grand Theft Auto : Vice City, Shenmue, Ninja Gaiden

RE4 is a good choice for best overall game.
So is Shadow of The Colossus.

Best game would be Ikaruga and the best new franchise would go to Guitar Hero for me.
I am absolutely shiocked by the number of people who mistakenly think that some series started last gen. Animal Crossing, Battalion Wars and Soul Calibur (Soul Edge) all had their starts earlier.
Best new game: Killer 7
Bes new Ip: Not sure. I didn't really enjoy any of the new franchise games that i can think of...

Why are you absolutely shocked that everyone isn't a total nerd and did not thoroughly research to find out that Animal Crossing was released only in japan on the N64. And why are you absolutely shocked that people had no idea soul blade existed, and even if they did, that it's even in the same franchise, since ever other "soul" game afterwords was titled "Soul Calibur." And Batallion Wars did have it's start last generation, I don't know what you're talking about.
It's ok if you want to mention that some people made mistakes, but you don't have to be "absolutely shocked." It makes you sound like an elitiest nerd.
