You're a reasonable left, Etecon. I have the same vitriolic comments for the far right as well, trust me.
Extremists on both sides make my ass itch.

In my opinion, one of the main reasons the extreme left is (generally) more self-destructive than the extreme right is that the Religious Right has been marginalized to the extent that very few people take them seriously anymore; on top of this, the extreme left is (generally) much more famous and well know so when they share their worldview they're far more likely to make the news.
The campaign has now officially become stupid and pointless. After McCains asinine attacks the Obama camp is now releasing an attack add described as follows
The newest ad showcasing their hard line includes unflattering footage of McCain at a hearing in the early '80s, wearing giant glasses and an out-of-style suit, interspersed with shots of a disco ball, a clunky phone, an outdated computer and a Rubix Cube.
The next two months are going to be hellish and vapid. I think I'm going to go hide under a rock until Sometime in late november after this is over and all of the recounts have been done.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Hahah, you think those are bad?
Don't visit Minnesota in the next few months. Both the Norm Coleman and Al Franken ads make you want to put your head through a plate glass window. They try so desperately to be clever about it and just fall flat on their fucking faces.

Don't remind me... *puts gun in mouth*
The dedication you show to any particular console or company is inversely proportional to the number of times you have gotten laid. If you get laid enough, even if you prefer a certain brand, you just don't give enough of a shit to argue about it on the internet.

I had the feeling you would show up after I typed that.
God, those ads suck.

Why polls don't matter, but are still fun...
Sept 12, 2004
Electoral Vote Predictor 2004: Kerry 273 Bush 233

Today: Obama 268 McCain 270

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
As of September 16th, 2008.

Obama: 247 (-21) McCain: 257 (-13) Tie: 34(+34)
Joe Biden's visit did nothing for my state of NC. Pretty interesting considering that before the conventions it was a battleground state that Obama was investing strongly in.

Virginia may show as a statistical tie, but when it counts, it will turn pure Red as it always does :/
Trust me, I live here. The problem with VA is that while we do have a lot moderately minded people both on the Democratic and Republican sides, we also have a HUGE swath of the bible belt + a ton of homophobes. We're also very pro gun
Despite our popular democratic governors like Douglas Wilder, Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, we have enough moderates that continue to vote Republican out of pure homophobia and other fringe issues.
I think in a lot of states McCain is indeed seeing an extended bounce from Palin. She continues to be a fresh face, and the media seems to be afraid of tackling the tough questions on her or even disputing the outright fabrications coming from the McCain campaign.
I expect this extended rise to settle down in the following four weeks, and McCain's campaign will either win by the negative campaigning and distractions and trashing Obama with lies, or the lies will finally backfire and cause enough disgust to drive the moderates back into the arms of Obama.
Edit: Holy crap. I may have spoken too soon about VA... former Republican VA governor Linwood Holton (he's pretty much the reason VA has been a red state the last 40 years) is campaigning for Obama now. The younger crowd doesn't know governor Holton, but the older crowd knows him well. This could be tremendous
