4 people helping each other get from A to B via objects left lying around........ sorry but its all been done before in various ways........... i do not share your LBP enthusiasm, it may end up been a FAD, just like a wii, bottom line_________________________________

Obviously the insane amount of customization, the youtube of gaming, a level form of co-op never been done before, and machinima aspects have all been done before.

I understand what you're saying, but you only speak from a gamers perspective and not the casual. Here are some problems or as I like to put it, "the glitch in the matrix":

1) Too much customization for a platform game. How is this game supposed to lure casual gamers who just want a quick fix if they have to customize so many things?

2) The dev's say that the game can mainly be enjoyed at it's height when you're with friends.

3) I have yet to hear about the storyline. Platformers need a good storyline no matter how cheesy or simple it might be. This will inspire the dev's as well in the levels that they make.

4) The dev's already admitted that this game will have nothing to do with pre-scripted gameplay. Thats also a minus for gamers who just want a platform quick fix. In other words, this will pretty much be a platformer/Sims type game at the heart.

5) I'm all for creativity, but if i'm doing that, i'd rather make the game from scratch myself. I love customizing my character in games and all, but this is a stretch when I have stuff to do. At the heart of it, I don't believe in the slightest that this game is a draw for casual gamers, but in the end more so for hardcore gamers who want another platformer to try on for size, that might add a little bit of time consuming challenge.

The game is hyped beyond belief. However, like L4D, its basic gameplay premise revolves around multiplayer and user generated content.

...and no I don't have a PS3 right now.

...and yes I did watch a video about the game.

...and no, it didn't change my mind, or make me buy a new PS3 for myself.

However, I would really like to play Resistance 2 and Disgaea 3, and those games have me considering stealing mine back, for a while.

I think it will be a fun game that you should definitely pick up if you have a bunch of friends over all the time, and they want a party game/bridge title. I think it will get AAA reviews all around, because at the very least, previewers would feel like hypocrits if they didn't. I think a few LBP reviews are already written, just from playing a demo. I don't think they'll all be trustworty, and the game will very likely be over-rated, thanks to extra "innovation" points, and if the game is really AAA, then it will probably be the highest rated game of all time. I'm still not buying that I'll have more fun with this game setting around playing it by myself at 5:00 AM, than I would with Resistance 2.

I believe you can co-op online as well.  nice plug for Resistance 2...how many games can we put into this one thread?  heh...

If there is any possibility of a good shooter on the PS3, it will be KZ2. Resistance isn't even looking like it can hold a candle to it. Even with that 300 ft monster it still looks average compared to KZ2. But I still maintain that both games are cookie cutter FPS. If I was to buy one of the exclusive FPS games on the PS3 it would be KZ2 though.

I can see how this game is appealing to many people and I can see how it would get great reviews... But I wouldn't buy it. I would rent it at best. I can see how it can be fun for few hours but I'd get bored with it afterwards.

Sackboys are cute though... I wish I had one of them plushies! (See I rather have a plushie than the game!)

Oh and the title of the thread should be ''You have to like LBP and have the same opinion as me otherwise I put the PS3 hater stamp on you.''

I don't hate the PS3, my bf owns it (he's not interested at all in LBP either but he doesn't like platforming), I've seen many videos of the game but this is how I feel about it. In no way I'm saying it's bad, many people will enjoy it but it doesn't make me want it. My opinion.

I don't have an issue with your post.  However, alot of people in here have been talking about the game's sales, when all we are doing is talking about it being a quality title.

True true... Then it's fine... :3

@ d21lewis: Hehe... Well sorry captain I'll have to disobey you! :p

 I totally agree.

1. First of all everyone can make maps.. you don't have to customize anything. You can just play other peoples creation.

2. What do you think the wii is ?

3. there are 50 levels within a storyline. while it's true we haven't heard much on the aspect there is sure to be one.

4. As i wrote above, you can just play a level that simply requires you to .. platform ?... did you see the video where the knight goes to save the princess ?

5. At one point i agree. I'd rather make games myself. And i do. But it takes forever, so this is something you can fiddle around with for fun... and personally, i'm gonna get the game.. and probably even do a few levels. I think it's an awesome idea. I will be buying it mostly for social gaming though.

ps. If you didn't play through resistance 1 you shouldn't speak of the gameplay of the sequal unless its very different. Resistance is win. Killzone 2 also looks win though. But if resistance looks average compaired, it's just because kz looks that much above anything else. ;)

1. Thats awesome dude, but on a platformer a storyline would be great. If you're going to play a platformer without a storyline after using someone elses created map, will you and your friends have a duel or competition of sorts? Or must you just survive. these are the little things that can break such a thing like this game.

2. LBP isn't the Nintendo Wii. Anyone can understand why at its height the Wii as a system (not just one game) can be enjoyed more with friends.

3. I'd love to hear more about the storyline. But as the dev's said, they aren't worrying too much about pre-scripted gameplay. It could get dull if you're just enjoying a one player experience, which could be the case for the majority who buy this game and aren't playing online.

4. Please link me to the video. It would be much appreciated. Anything that would make some sense out of this game is a plus in my book.

5. While what you say holds true, something YOU might be able to fiddle with, might take forever for casual gaming fans. Remember that. This is why I said this game in all actuality is for hardcore gamers, who want a platformer that they can mess with from time to time.

I've played resistance 1 at my friends house and don't have any interest in it in the slightest. I've been playing FPS most of my life and trust me in the evolution of these games I don't see anything break-out about this franchise. KZ2 looks far better than Resistance 2 ever will and no 300 ft monster can save it. I still maintain that the resistance franchise looks like battlefield 1942 with aliens in it.

I hope LBP turns out to be good :)

I hope so too.

1. Each creation can have it's own storyline. Ever wanted to make an awesome story ? heres your chance.

2. My point is simply that the wii manages with social games and so has the playstation.. the playstation made casual gaming famous with the ps1 and especially with the ps2.

3. I think the majority will play it singleplayer, but i really also think the same ones will play it in multiplayer. I doubt that most people looking to get this game simply does it to play it alone. I will say though, storylines are also a major deal for me in most cases. I really like a deep and involving storyline.

4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhJHAc2HQao if you look, this is platforming at its roots basically. You can make maps like this, it is why they say that only your mind limits you. Heck, you could remake super mario and make a plumber sackboy who has to jump on toads. With all the posibilities i think that it would be possible to make.

5. That is why they made it so simple.

Again, if you haven't played through resistance one. I don't care about multiplayer or part of the game. You need to have played through it to really experience it. It's really awesome. At first i thought it was boring and average. Until i had played a few hours into the campaign. Then it gets really really exciting. And it has a very cool and unique storyline :)

I used to be like you Soriku. I have a huge mass of JRPGs. One day I realized that most of the stories I played were contrived, too similar, and the level grinding was quite annoying. To each his own though.

This game represents an amazing game to play with friends.  Thats the experience I want from it.
