You know Motorstorm was bundled right? No wonder it sold 5 million.

Also, tbh, I prefer games like Valkyria and Disgaea on the PS3. As many of you know I'm a HUUUGE RPG fan and those look great. I'm usually up for single player experiences that last me a long time. I don't own games like SSBB and MK Wii because of that. I'm going to buy 3 new games this year...all RPGs. That's why I say I mighf not buy it if I ever owned a PS3. But whatever. It's not like I'm buying a PS3 soon :P

Get a PS3 Soriku.  Valkyria, Versus, FFXIII, Disagaea 3, Eternal Sonata, and the eventual port of Vesperia, alongside all those rad unique titles.  Come on Soriku, join us.

Disgaea 3 is a day one for me... Valkyria I admitidly have no interest in, but you can get Eternal Sonata on 360 for budget and Vesperia is no 100% shot. FF13 is also on 360 and if more recent FF's are any indication neither it nore Vs. will be worth their time.(Of course this is opinion but FF has been making me sick lately >.

As far as LBP I don't think anybody attacked it I think some people are just being realistic about it. With a big budget and a great game with good exposure you can still fail. I'm not saying it will and hope it doesn't because I like creative games.

the short is quirky games are not for everyone, some people downright hate anything thats even a little different to be honest. I've seen some of the best games of my lifetime, go unnoticed simply because they were a little obscure ; ;

He doesn't own a 360.  So we're trying to get him to make the decision to get a PS3.  As for Valkyria, you may write it off, but all the previews have been glowing for it.  Watch it review better than Tales of Vesperia.

@Parrot
I believe as a norm SRPG's have a much harder time during reviews than JRPG's. So I would have to guess that Valkyria won't do as well as ToV simply based on that.

clarification: Valkyria doing that well would make me extremely happy if it did though.  (don't want Outlawauron taking out a hit on me)

Have you read the previews from RPGamer and IGN, I think you'll be pleased :).

I have no doubt about this game becoming a great experience, but this game as a success based on the sales and user content, yeah, I can´t see it...

There is a complex rating system that will ensure good levels.  Plus I can't wait to play all those detail oriented levels from Japan.  Pure greatness.

Have you ever enter on a site with some levels made by the users???

The amount of fail is inmense, and this game need great support from the comunity in order to achieve the success

The ratings system is going to help ensure quality levels. But also, don't be surprised to see not only Media Molecule adding levels for download, but also other Sony internal studios creating their own levels and throwing 'em in the game. There's going to be all kinds of cross promotional mayhem going on with LBP.

Also, have you ever heard of Unreal Tournament? Have you ever seen the amazing user generated content in those games? That series has practically lived off of user generated content. Half-Life is another one.

Thats why I´m saying it, every person who have played unreal 3, half life, any good rts, can tell you how many content there is and how easy is to make crap, and I found those two games more apealing than LBP, thats why I keep doubting about the content, the creators, yeah, users, no, and other studios, well is a big if...

This game will be very frontloaded, on the sales (Xmas season) and the content (With a huge amount of mediocre content in the first week and then well it will just fade away)...

Personally, I think that there is a "victim card" being played constantly by many PS3 owners ...

Since the PS3 launched there have been more games that were "100% Guaranteed AAA 5+ Million sellers" than any other system (according to PS3 fans) and yet the PS3 doesn't have a single 5+ Million selling game, and many of these games failed to be decent quality games. Now, whenever one of these games was brought up anyone who didn't agree with they hype was "bashing" these games.

The most annoying thing is that after all this hype when the games do not meet these unrealistic expectations the PS3 fans are never willing to accept the comeuppance, and will claim that a game (like Lair or Haze) was never hyped at all.

Every system has their fair share of duds.  Remember King Kong, Perfect Dark Zero, or Too Human?  Eventually you get a game like Mass Effect, Dead Rising, and Bioshock.

Well the PS3 has its fair share as well.  Than it finally got Ratchet and Clank, Warhawk, Uncharted Drakes Fortune, all those innovative PSN titles, and most importantly MGS4.  You have an anti-PS3 history, so I understand why you wrote what you did.

Every system does have their duds, but the XBox 360 fans are far more willing to accept reason and won't say that you're "Bashing" Too-Human when you point out it was in development for 10 years; and Wii owners are far more likely to have expectations of moderate sales with long legs for many of their new IPs. From what I have seen, it is only the PS3 fans who have expectations of games like Lair, Heavenly Sword and Uncharted to outsell games like Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, and Super Smash Bros.

The fact is that right now many realistic expectations for Little Big Planet (like 80% to 90% reviews and sales of 1 to 2 million) are instantly called "bashing" by PS3 fans.

Oh yeah I've kept up with previews, but reviews can often be starkly different than the preview, so although I can't wait to play the game the only assumptions I make for reviews is that it'll be higher than 7.5ish

...

@ HappySquirriel )

I've seen atleast 2 360-fans on this side constantly stating "Too Human wasn't hyped at all" and "it wasn't a 10 year developement" .. that's about as many as PS3-fans that seriously were expecting Heavenly Sword and Lair to sell better than Mario games.

Your view, that "only PS3-fans" have unrealistic expectations and won't admit, when they were wrong, may very well be case of selective perception .. well, I seem to have one aswell I must add, for I constantly see Ninty-fans nagging about PS3-owners, calling them "immature" or "sad" and making alot of generalizations *sigh* it must be a cognitive bias, it can't be really that bad.

@talkingparrot, I doubt that Valkyria Chronicles will do better than what Higuchi can make. Higuchi has already proven himself that he can make a good tales game ToS, ToA. Valkyria Chronicles though is a merging of the House of the Dead makers (AM1) and Skies of Arcadia (AWESOME) yes the AM7 team I think is amazing Skies was one of my favorite RPGs. But the fact is Sega is lacking in devs, after DC so many people split Sega or were taken off the company or poofed.. (Yu Suzuki I'm looking at you).

-=Dew the disco dancing fo da Unco Graham=-

i have only seen a few Wii people hating on the game because it isnt going to the Wii but what do you expect, this is the kind of game that would do well on it
