Forums - Website Topics - PS3 Numbers?

I was just wondering how the PS3 could've sold more than it's shipped. Your website has it at 14.89M worldwide, while in reality they have shipped only 14M world wide (as of the end of July).

PREDICTION:

60M PS3's by the end of it's Life Span (Anything between 5 to 10 years)

1.56 million shipped in April through June.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

In Leipzig, David Reeves said it was 14M worldwide and 5.8M in PAL. That said, the numbers you provided are still lower than the supposed sales numbers here on VGC.

Go to Gamespot and watch the feed.

Those figures are from Sony's financial reports. Reeves just stated they sold over 14 million units, which is correct.

Note it's now already the 23rd of August, so that's July sales plus a couple of weeks worth of sales for August.

the numbers are not over tracked, they are inline with the shipped figures. Anyway sony have been shipping less ps3 as they are making room for the 80Gb so

@ Baki )

this website has it at 13.887 million at the end of June (the official shipping report says 14.41 million for the same timeframe)- so ~500k were on retailer shelves according to VGC

But hasn't Sony stopped shipments to make room for the 80Gb. That and VGC numbers are supposed to sold to consumers.
