Forums - Nintendo - IMO, Twilight Princess is an utter failure and a complete disappointment

No, I don't personallyhave my game saved to an SD card. I'm talking about finding someone else's gamesaves on the internet.

Obviously, if i had my game saved to an SD card, I would instantly load it.

And how can i accidentally erase a game? I'll tell you. I got up from my bed one morning. I was still tired as hell but had to get up because of work. I turned on my Wii and when I sat on my couch, I accidentally sat on my controller. The next thing I know it was erasing my game so I guess I hit all the right combinations of buttons at the start of the game in order for it to delete.

You act as if it's impossible, but things like that do happen.

And no, I'm not mad at the world because i deleted my game. I've started OoT over (in FACT, I have multiple games of OoT going - one on my Wii VC, one on my Zelda collector's disc, and I have a Master Quest going...all right now! and i don't mind playing that game a million times...it never gets old.)

I started TP again because I accidentally lost my game and I'm just noting here that it's not as fun the 2nd time...not like any of the other Zelda games.

I'm not the only one who feels that TP doesn't have anything much to do other than the main quest of the game (which is in itself pretty boring).

I'm the biggest Nintendo fan boy I know (whether I should be proud of that statement is another arguement altogether)....and I tried to like this game. I'll probably eventually beat the game, but it won't be anytime soon.

Hell, I'm going to the beach at COB today, so Zelda can dryrot for all I care...

Well, everyone's entitled to their opinions, I guess. Even wrong ones.

Twilight Princess had very little to do... I agree with that. The game was very tedious, but I found it to be quite entertaining... the first time I played through it. From then on, it was just so boring...

I loved Twilight Princess and hated Oncarina of Time, so we're even. ;)

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

'An utter failure and a complete disappointment' is a bit far, but i agree, playing through it a second time is very tedious and i didn't enjoy it nearly as much as OoT or MM.

Due to receiving a new (replacement) Wii, I am in a similar position (losing a completed savegame for Zelda).

Apart from the fishing sequences (my partner loved fishing in Zelda), I haven't even considered playing the game again. Its too long, not THAT much fun (pointless collection sequences?) and not that rewarding. The only reason I would do it again, would be to unlock the fishing area again.

I do think this is a "low-point" for the series. But that says a lot, as I still think its a very good game - in its own right. It just lacks the true personality that most of the other Zelda titles had.

...

Can't wait for Phantom Hourglass...

I personally enjoyed twilight princess myself, Midna always made me smile :)

Saying its a total dissapointment is going a bit far tho. Its a super game in its own right ( better than 95% of all the games out there) but at the same time 'only' the 4th or 5th best zelda game. just goes to show how good the zelda games are doesnt it?

/Shrug, I disagree. I much preferred this over most of the other zeldas, save the early ones (such as link to the past, and OoT and of course the original bad boy) which I enjoyed more. I'm close to 60 hours played on TP, I wouldn't have wasted that much time if I didn't enjoy it.

only part that annoyed me was having to shake the damn remote for the small swings of the sword...got annoying after awhile. I'd have preffered a button to use for normal attacks. The rest of the motion controls worked reasonably well I think.
