Sales for Sony Corp.'s new 80GB Playstation 3 SKU ranked in the top 10 two days after release at Amazon.com.

On Fri., the 80GB PS3 ranked at No. 7 in Amazon's Video Games division.

The 80GB PS3 held a 40,205 percent sales increase upon debut at Amazon this week.

Sony released the new 80GB PS3 at an aggressive $399.99, the price of its previous 40GB model.

The product includes a built-in Blu-ray disc drive for high-def movies and a new Dualshock 3 controller with rumble functionality.

Sony this week announced a new 160GB PS3 bundle to be released in Nov. in the U.S.

The limited edition bundle will include the title Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, a Playstation Network voucher for Pain, and a Dualshock 3 Wireless Controller for $499.99.

It looks like it, I saw a bunch at my local Best Buy today.

Yeah The 80GB Core realeased today at my Local Gamestop

i think im gonna wait for the 160 but aha idk what im gonna do with all that space

 If all you care is the space you can get a 80Gb PS3 for 399$ and and add a 250Gb HDD for 99.99$ at NewEgg.

So for the same price as the 160Gb PS3 you would get a 250Gb one.

No free uncharted or pain voucher though........

Yeah its on sale. I posted about it yesterday, and I was asking if anyone knows why the 80gb core would weigh a pound and a half more than the 40gb version.
