Wii sales have not slumped worldwide, only in the america market. Which makes me think that this is why it could be happening. People who say that it's because of the summer slowdown, there are still no wiis on the shelves. What kind of slowdown are we talking about?

it slowed everywhere but it went badly on na.
i really think its due kids going back to school, uniforms are books take a priority before games.

If that was the case (which would be a decrease in demand) the price on the so called 'grey market' would have dropped below retail as people would be able to buy their Wiis in stores. Given the fact that this has not happened we must assume that the problem is in supply and not demand.
What has caused Nintendo to cut their supply to America is arguable - I can't see them halving their supply just to stockpile for the holidays, more likely they would skim a smaller amount off for a longer period than do that.
