Selnor, you are not understanding, nor are many people in the thread.

Gamestop is not price-dropping.

All Gamestop has said is that they are anticipating drops from both the PS3 and 360 and won't need to change their financial outlook because they've already factored in the price drops that may or may not happen.

In Layman's terms, Gamestop is just saying that their financial situation is fine, even if both companies drop the price of their systems. That's why it mentions GSs financials in the first line.

THERE ARE NO PS3 OR 360 PRICE CUTS PLANNED BY GAMESTOP

On the other hand if the PS3 price drop fails to materialize, Gamestop might get pwned financially.

360 cuts are all but certian at this point...Sept 6 is the date. With the line-up in store for the 360, the cuts are perfectly place, and it will have a far greater effect now, then it would have 5 months ago, when msot were calling for it...including me, btw. M$ held off and sales having been too badly hurt by the delay, and now the 360 will be poised to outperform the previuos 6 months.
