You might be onto something. I think lurkers get tired of seeing their console of choice getting bashed and decide to hop into the fray!

Take it as you will.  It could also mean that since PS3 members are so quickly banned that they have to, to get their VGC fix...

I think the percentage of Sony fanboy has been very high here for quite a while.

Unfortunately, most Sony fanboys can't form the type of arguments needed to sustain a post by themselves. Trust me when I tell you this is simply due to the quantity and quality of the top Sony posters, and not the failings, or lack-there-of, of the console itself. Very few of your top guys could or would be willing to face any sort of real fire alone. For instance, the PC fanboy Shio, isn't quite alone, but he instills fear in the hearts of PC haters and trolls. He's not very tactful, but he is knowledgable, frank, and assertive. One Shio is worth a million trolls, which is the problem with the Sony fanboys on this site. They can troll, and they can post very well, but the top posters for the 360, PC, and Wii are...well terrifying.

Can you think of a Sony fanboy that anyone is afraid to flame for being a Sony fanboy, lol?

Leo-J certainly never instilled fear, but he was a leader, and a general, though his standard has inevitably waned in his recent absences.

So, since the recent 360 scare, and the FFXIII devestation, Sony fanboys are back, and stronger than ever. They are jaded, angry, and now more agressive and resolute than ever.

Unfortunately, being radical doesn't come with a degree in English, and thus the trolls will continue to be trolls, because they can't express their true thoughts and feelings accurately, through written text.

Maybe, if you can get Leo-J back to the prestige he once had, will the Sony fanboy be the true force to be reckoned with on this forum. However, until then you'll have to rely on sheer numbers to compete with the heroes of the other consoles. You're an army without a general. You're a snake with no head, and percieved numbers increases might hint at an inevitable overtaking of this forum by the Sony fanboy troll, but that battle won't be as easy as you think. With our mods, this forum definitely values incite over hurtful comment, and until that changes, your best bet to gain ground is to increase your incite, rather than the number of hurtful comments per hour you can churn out.

I hate threads like this. I wish moderation on this site was stricter. This will do nothing but bring out the fanboy plumage inside of all the Anti-Sony fans. Hence, causing the Sony fanboys to attack. What a loss.

It's far from conclusive, but I like to use video game ownership to gauge console enthusiasm on VGChartz.

If you look at the biggest Wii games, you find the number of VGC owners ranges from 400 for MK Wii all the way up to 1000 for games like Wii Sports and SMG.

If you look at the biggest PS3 games, ownership tends to be about 300 members, topping out at 400 for MGS4.

360 games fall into a similar range as PS3, with Halo 3 being only 50 owners higher than MGS4. The curious thing is that multiplats like CoD4 and GTA IV claim more PS3 VGC owners than 360, even though the games sold better on 360.

I'd say the PS3 community on VGC is the strongest in proportion to the actual market presence of the PS3, while 360 is the weakest. Wii is odd, since that SMG number looks so incredibly strong while the MK Wii number looks weak relative to how the game has sold.

As there are more and more PS3 sold, there are more and more fanboys appearing, looks normal to me

Maybe it's also because you can only turn to hard fanboyism when you own such a piece of far superior hardware.

The numbers have not really increased that much since i have been here its just that everyday a new comer to the site always claims nintendo domination and how crap the ps3 has done. they just need reminding that the ps3 is doing alot better then was expected of it last year.

I agree. I've removed my profile of the PS3 fanboy. It was my opinion, however, it was unnecessarily offensive. I understand why topics like these are leading. They are like asking Mike Capps, "Hey man, why does the Wii suck so bad."

It's a leading question, and I'll try not to fall into any traps where I'll unnecessarily bring up any fanboy flaws that are exclusive to the Sony base. It's not any Sony fans fault that B-O likes to post stuff like this. They can't control him, and I can't change the past.
