Forums - Sales - A question about bundles

I often hear about different companies selling consoles bundled with a game. But they always force you to buy the game that they bundled with.

Why don´t they let you choose which game you want bundled?

I understand that some games are cheaper for them to bundle with, but why don´t they give you a list that says, this game is free, this newer one will be half-off or something?

Is the reason a problem with the developer/publisher agreeing to it? Would it be too confusing to average people?

Thanks in advance for the help and sorry if this is a dumb quesiton. I really know nothing about these things.

Can anyone help me?

Because they get a special deal on one or a few games so its cheaper.

Tease.

They only have to pay for one advertisement that way, and put it in the magazines, the internets, and the TVs.

Back in the day they used to do the "pick a free game" or "pick a game half-off" type of deals. I don't know why they stopped exactly. They want to push the game they think will be the strongest and leave you thirsty for more?

I'm not sure.
