 well the reason no one calls it the nintendo NES is because that would be saying nintendo nintendo entertainment system. just because nobody calls it the nintendo gameboy doesnt mean that that isnt its name.

 People will say ATM machine (automated teller machine machine) so why not Nintendo NES?

I use my personal identification PIN number in an automated ATM machine.

On a sidenote is it me or do the most members say Wii on this site and not Nintendo Wii?

I think it has to do with context. coming on this site and saying "hey, do you like Wii?" everyone will know what you're talking about. You do that on the street, and other than odd looks, you might get someone going "do you like US..."

Putting nintendo in front makes people realize the context in which Wii is being used. that's all.
