I am currently up to Nor Harbor and I must say, this is easily my favorite JRPG this gen. I love the art style, I actually am loving the battle system (which is strange because I used to never care for the Tales battle system).

Estellise is very funny with her stupid comments, especially when you finish a battle and she sets up Rita for a high-five, lol.

This is actually the first time I am playing a JRPG this gen and actually having genuine fun. It is sad that this game hasn't gotten better sales. It truly deserves it and I can not wait to get out of work to continue with it.

Glad to know your enjoying ToV so much.

And just think, at Nor Harbor, your maybe 15% of the way done. It gets much better.

Not to mention I have over 8 hours logged in already. I am on pace to spend at least 50-60 hours on this game because I know there has to be some sidequests eventually right?.

Seriously though, what an excellent game.

What level should I be at this time though? My party (Yuri, Estellise, Karol, Rita) are all level 20. Sometimes I feel a bit over-powered, except for that boss I just finished. He kicked my ass the first time, which was the first time I died.

If you feel that normal battles are getting too easy then change the difficulty setting to hard.

Like I said, I am not just "enjoying" the game. I feel like it is the best JRPG this gen, hand down.

As for the normal battles feeling easy. That is probably because I level up too much.

By the way, I was upset to find out that Repede was crap compared to the rest of my team. He looks so cool.

Euphoria - I'm 55hrs in, and am only 75% of the way through, with lots of sidequests left.

I'll give you a hint: You always want to back track once you've completed a major line of quests. Once you get the chance to return to Nor after some events, go back ASAP and revisit the main continent to start with some major sidequests. I totally missed the uber-monster hunt because of it. Although you can always fight them, you won't get the bonuses.

There are the following sidequests available:

Warehouse Challenges (puzzle game)
Giganto Monsters (Uber-enemies with health higher than most bosses)
Casino Games
Delivery Quests
Mini-Quests (like special cutscenes/skits when you return to an area at a specific time. Hence the focus on backtracking).
Cooking

And so on. There's a lot to the game. I have maybe 60% of the skits unlocked, and it's crazy to think how many more could be available.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Would that monsteer happen to be the big bastard in Quio Woods?

Also, how early are the side quests available? Would I be able to find any yet? I have not entered Nor Harbor.

There are ALOT of skits left. ToV has 500+ skits overall.

There are 9 of them.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Yes, that inaccessible monster in Quoi Woods is one of the giganto monsters. I've beaten around 6-7 of them currently.

Your first sidequests start popping up when you get the boat. Return to the 1st continent immediately once you get it by landing back at Nor, and talk to the King of Adventure near Halure. He will give you the 'official' Giganto Monster quest - each monster killed nets you exclusive items. You can also start the Warehouse quests, by going to Dein Nomos at that time. However, unlike the Giganto Monster quests, you can start them at any time in the normal game.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Seems like I should have grabbed a guide...

Oh well, i'll just have fun searching around.
