I want it bad. I thought the first one was very good, but just shy of greatness. The new one seems to perfect the graphics and the gameplay issues of the first. Problem is that I'm definitely not going to have enough money for this game. Valkyria Chronicles, Resistance, and LBP are more important.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Pacific Rift will be fun, but it will not equate to the sales it achieved with the attachment rate. I dunno...I might purchase it to try something different. I haven't played a good off road game since PS1, Nintendo. The top PS3 games sales will hurt Rift badly.

you should try DiRT if you haven't already, I thought that was pretty awesome.

As for Pacific Rift I'm going to pick it up as soon as I see it.

First one was good but I lacked motivation to tackle the hardest races.

With trophies coming up with the new one though I feel like I'm going to be spending a lot of time trying to win those hardest races now ;)
