Basically Nintendo risked launching a video game system after the great Video Game Crash of 82/83.

They won because they had the balls to go it alone..

it was a bad thing later though, nintendo monopoly was bad, they got money of each game sale.

when ps1 came by it was heaven to developers they could release more 5 games.

oh yeah, the microvision had 100% share of the portable cartridge loading system when it came out in the late 70's

with the snes there were still some lincense agreement but it wasn't so bad as the nes time.

 yes competition from sega and nec, not sony, all sony did was see a profitable market with a few small companies and said we can through money at that and take over

The NES controller two markets ,not three.So ,it cant compare to the PS2.



I have Monopoly for the NES and it kicks ass. It's totally cheater-proof.
