I've always wondered, how DO you avoid being called a fanboy? Is owning all systems in question from release, playing (and owning) at least 10 games for each system (the best exclusives) and judging their merits not sufficient? I used all three systems, owned them all for over a year and found two out of three lacking for different reasons. The Wii I would consider rebuying if something changes next year, I sold it for lack of near future prospects not lack of prospects for all time (why hold on to something if you're not going to use it for the next year?) but the 360 I have been roundly disapointed by over and over. Yes I bought an Xbox too and played its best games when it was heavily discounted on the runup to the 360. If you play all of a consoles best games (including Halo 3, Gears of War, Viva Pinata ect) and try everything that suposedly makes it better and find it worse how does that make you horridly biased? I tried both and the PS3 is better then the 360 in every single way from better exclusives to better graphics in exclusive games to great free online to Blu ray playback to network capacity to playing divx movies from the hard drive ect ect. If something IS better in every way and you say so after trying both you are a impartial person who makes a choice between two options. How does choosing the PS3 as my vastly superior option make me some blind fanboy?
I like the PS3 most because it is the best console in features I want (I want a quality HD device), I would have no qualms about switching if it was otherwise. I switched from Nintendo exclusive to Sony in the N64 generation when the N64 couldn't handle the games I wanted to play (notably FFVII) and would switch from Sony if they were not the best option. They ARE the best option however for at least the rest of this generation unless you can give me a single 360 feature (and don't use games I can also play on my gaming PC) that is superior to the PS3. I can think of 20 PS3 features that are superior to the 360 off the top of my head from using both. |
This whole reply is just your opinion. PS3 is not the BEST option. They may be the best option for you...and that fine but if they were the best option, they wouldn't be in last place losing money for each console sold.
I don't know how far back my post history goes but when I joined this site I never said a bad thing about the PS3...because I didn't own it. However I purchased a PS3 for MGs4 as I am a huge fan of the series. I played about 6 games and a month later I sold it as I understood where PS3 fits in this generation. It’s basically a "me too" console which save for a few good 1st and 2nd party developed games will offer nothing that won't be done on the xbox360 and done better.
All the hype, all that BS sony sold to consumers makes me think of the bullshit they were selling with ps2 when it launched. That system took off without a single good game for almost a year only because it had a DVD drive and was a successor to PS1. PS3 tried to do the same trick as they were promoting bluray and the fact its a "PS2 successor" rather than making games...and it showed as people were starved for good games for quite a while.
So we have a successor to ps2 the highest selling console in the world, combined with a bluray drive...which is supposedly the next big thing everyone wants and sony slashing the price of this bundle of technology to the point they are still losing money on it almost 2 years in...And Sony is barely outselling the 360 worldwide, if at all...which at this point has...umm only games to work with. PS3 is the best gaming choice? I don't think so...
