Hey dudes, today I've been playing my GC, and in the middle of the game my game froze and i got a loud beeping sound, had to restart my console, and then got stuck again after reaching the same point. Prob was fixed after cleaning the disc (which is barely scratched). I've also had a prob with another game, that got fixed after cleaning it as well. Does my lens need cleaning as it has probs reading discs that are a little dirty or scratched? if I do, how do I clean it? thanks.

Yeah, I think your GameCube needs a lens clean-up... My first GC stopped reading discs after a long time, but I really think it was the motor (?) used for rotating discs that stopped running.

I used to just take a cotton swab and rub the lens gently.

Aw okay dude, should I use rubbing alcohol to clean it, maybe? If ti doesn't hurt skin, it shouldn't hurt the lens, right? It should completely get rid of the dirt.
