Oh, Wii still havn't had core game for months but its marketshare still increasing ,then what will happen if those games released?

sony relies on those big well known games i mentioned more than their new ip's, and nothing is wrong with that , you can put any character on a game like mario galaxy and the quality would still be same just like all the good sequels, they sell well to their fan base, do you think sony or nintendo would have any fans left if they stop their famous franchises?.

there are some new franchises from nintendo too you know, obviously not as big as mario/zelda.

LBP = Sonys attempt at a casual game. The very same type of game these darned PS3 fanboys are always attempting to deride. But they seem to think LBP is the next 'Great white hope' for the ps3. Probably be just another false dawn anyway. Just like all the others. Double standards anyone, though? If LBP came out for the Wii these same Sony fanboys would be calling it the usual 'casual crap'. As its by Sony though it's the best thing since sliced bread! I say hyprocisy now, as i can just see it...

I can think of a few successful new IPs Nintendo has created recently. Brain Age, Wii Sports, Animal Crossing, Wii Fit, Nintendogs, which will probably not only be the most successful new IPs of this generation, but will be some of the most successful games of all time.

This is like one new IP each year that goes on to sell 10+ million. There are no other developers with that kind of track record. Anyone who says that Nintendo comes up with no new significant IPs is obviously delusional.

I think with EU/Others treating Nintendo the best saleswise, they should have release dates closer to the US and stuff. I don't like the NOE (Ninty of Europe) guy though.

I love how people consider Zelda/Mario and all of Nintendo's games rehashes when most of them are of the utmost quality and are awesome to play. If they came out with a new God of War every month, I'd buy everyone eventually. I could care less if some Sony hater thinks it is a "rehash". It's a Franchise. Imagine if they stopped Final Fantasy after #6, or Metal Gear after the first 2 (not the Solids), or Zelda after A Link to The Past.... Oh, sorry, that's a rehash.

These franchises keep coming because gamers are new. Not every 10 year old can have FF6 as their first FF game.

60gb 360 is out soon so that should boost the 360 too..

ps3 has got the 80gb so it's looking good for both consoles.

The 60gb 360 is already available at the same cost as the Wii in the UK at major stores like amazon and play.

Are thousands and thousands of people really holding off on buying PS3s, just so that they can get 80GB of storage space instead of 40GB? Apologies, but I find that hard to believe. It's far more likely that sales are slow because we're in the lazy summer months of the year...

Only the market-leading platforms are able to do big numbers in the slow months, and those platforms are clearly Wii and DS in Europe. The PS3, 360 (and PSP) are all dependent on new software releases to drive hardware sales. When the big fall titles release, their numbers will go up again.
