I'm a huge fan of Alien vs. Predator for the Atari Jaguar. Yup you heard right...the Atari Jaguar. I need to go on eBay and pick up a new Jaguar and a new copy of the game so I can run throguh it again.

My question is, I just found out that Sierra had two studios, Rebellion and Monolith, make two PC first person shooters that were obviously inspired by the design of the Jaguar game. For anyone familiar, how are the games, and how similiar are they to the Jaguar original, for those that played it also?

i played the first one on the pc and for that time the game was excellent and very diverse. But i guess games like Half-life took away the attention of such innovative games

Played the first and it was very stressful to play the marine. You could see dots beeping on your radar as you were awaiting in anticipation for the alien to attack.

First one is pretty cool... second one is not as good imo...

I enjoyed the singleplay predator mode in the first part... even finished it... alien was cool to but never got into it... human was horrible... you can´t see s**t and aliens come out of nowhere all the time... kinda like playing doom 3 without a flashlight... but then I hear some people like it that way...

Can´t remember the second one much... was looking forward to the Predator single player but didn´t like it at all...

Never had a Jaguar so I can´t copare... you should definitly try the first part... if you need a cheap copy just ask...

They were awesome... scary when you were playing the marine.. awesome and hard while being the Alien and being the predator was icing on the cake... love to use the speargun on the heads of the marines and see the heads fly of and pinned into the wall... I have the Jaguar version but I liked the PC versions better...

The first one was done by Monolith. Blood, Fear, Condemned... They have not done a bad FPS game yet and I don't think AVP is any different.

They weren't bad though they often suffered from "Where the heck am I going" syndrome. The very first 10 minutes as the Alien sucked for that reason in the original.

Yeah the Jaguar game was like that also. They just threw you in a location and let you sort out the rest. In fact I didn't even feel like there was an end goal in the game for any scenario. I just kept moving, killing and opening doors. It was just so much fun to be able to switch scenarios, especially back in 1994. I'm sure i'll be massively disappointed in these games, but I have huge fanboy goggles on for the original, so maybe they will transfer over.

^^ Yeah for some reason I like Aliens and Predators too... even enjoyed the movies eventhough they were pretty bad... wasn´t there a comic with aliens, predators and terminators ??? That sounds like a great movie or game right there...
