Forums - Gaming - Next Gen JRPG Breakdown

You didn't do a very good job of researching Wii games, but since you include unnamed RPGs:

Konami Wii RPG
Koei Wii RPG
From Software Wii RPG

relevant quote: Additionally, three other companies announced new RPGs, though no names or details were released. Konami, Koei, and From Software will all be contributing new RPGs to the Wii. Amongst RPG fans, Konami is most well known for its Suikoden, Castlevania, and Azure Dreams franchises, while From Software is responsible for the just-released Xbox 360 title Enchanted Arms, as well as the GameCube's Lost Kingdoms series.

Camelot RPG

Other games you completely missed:

Super Paper Mario
Alien Syndrome

Also, these need to be edited:
Sword of Legendia is not Japan only
Chocobo's Dungeon: Toki Wasure No Meikyuu is not Japan only (the others in the series were released in America, most recently on the DS. There has been no Japan only anouncement)

All bolded items need to be added, highlighted need to be edited.

Super Paper Mario? Are you serious? I'm not putting that in the list. I'll add the other stuff even though they're not listed anywhere except in an article saying they will be made in the future.

Also Alien Syndrome is not a JRPG. It's an action game with minor RPG stuff.  Neither Paper Mario or Alien Syndrome should be on this list.

Shin Megami Tensie is already released via the Virtual Console in Japan and if you put it that way then, there are a few more ones like Breath of Fire II, Fire Emblem Monshou no Kazo, Hercules no Eikou III, Fire Emblem Seisen no Keifu, which already have been released.

And you forgot Mario Story, which supposed to release in Japan in June, but has postponed to July and will make it 2 N64 games instead of 1, the other one is Wave Race by the way.

I'm not putting Virtual Console games I thought this would be obvious.

I'll accept not including Alien Syndrome, but if you keep Final Fantasy XI as a 360 JRPG (when it's an MMORPG, and has very little to do with JRPG styles) then you can certainly include Super Paper Mario, a platform RPG.  It was even reviewed by RPG Gamer... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_paper_mario

Anyway, more on topic, with the edits the RPGs actually look like they are spread out very evenly between the 3 systems. Obviously if you are an RPG gamer you can find something on any of the 3 systems, and really ought to own all 3.

jRPGs are what sell the consoles to me. So I'm going 360 and PS3 this generation. But I'll get a Wii eventually too.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

How bizarre to see Xbox and PS3 ahead of the Wii in terms of JRPGs. I'm afraid the earth will soon spin off its axis and careen into the sun.

Be patient, TGS 07 is bound to be filled with Wii RPGs. A Tales Of Symphonia sequel has already been rumoured by Cassamassina, and he is pretty accurate. And I think NIS was actually making a PS3 game. I don`t expect Atlus to make PS3 games unless Sony finances them. Too niche, and the cost are just too high.

That Shining Title you have listed is a Virtual Console title. There is no confirmed Shining games for the Wii. Since you aren't including VC games, you should remove it. ;)

I read the subject as "Next Gen JPEG Breakdown"

crappy old school NES games are more entertaining than next-gen games.

Mistwalker is making an MMORPG for 360 apparently.

I'm adding it, Japanese MMORPG.
