I might be a little low for the first week for PS3 & Wii, but I'm playing it conservative.

I was at a Walmart today and they were sold out of Madden on 360 (but not the special edition) and suprisingly the Wii version as well. They still had a good amount of PS3 versions in stock. I knew the clerk in electronics and she said Madden sold best on 360 & PS3 first day, but as the weekend came around a lot of people were picking up the Wii version as well.

This makes sense to me as I don't see most Wii owners (myself excluded) as being first day or even first week game buyers, but I do think they will pick it up during the football season.

In the long run I expect the 360 version to win, a tight race for second/third which I believe will be won by Wii (though not unitl early 2009). The PS2 will be fourth. Bringing up the rear will be PSP, DS, and in last XBox. I think those 3 combined will not sell as much as PS2. Are they doing PC this year?

I'm not sure how much the PS2 will drop from last year.  On the one hand there it is clear people are starting to move away from last generation, but it is still selling well, and there isn't much software competition.

I think there will be a significant PS2 drop, I know there a lot of people who have not moved into this gen yet, but I don't beleive the PS2 will do close to last years numbers. Too many consoles have sold from all 3 companies for it to hit 400k first week again...

Starcraft, both TheSource and ioi have hinted that first week sales may be flat over last year for several platforms, one of which is the 360. I don't think that it will turn out to be true, but it's something to consider.

Which does not mean more first week sales haha.  So what's your point.  First of all analysts have said this year's sales of the game is flat.  Secondly ioi said that 360's year over year launch sales for Madden on 360 is flat.  Meaning more than likely sales are around the same. 

Next larger userbase does not mean more sales on the first week.  Actually first week buyers are majority core gamers of the series.  While the tacked on userbase over the year that has potential to buy the game is probably mainstream gamers. Meaning more than likely they'll buy this game not in the first week and around holidays 2008. 

Yes there is a possibility considering everything sales could be higher but right now there is nothing given all the data that suggests that.
