MC needs high tech machinery and super fancy guns to do his talking.

Master Chief. Snakes just an old fart and besides the MC is used to invisible enemies.

From what I can remember of Halo, Master Chief was slow, fragile and could only carry a couple guns at a time so I think it would not be unrealistic for Snake to win.

You're comparing the Hero of the future who can take the enemy headon vs a guy thats forced to sneak around in the present day. Snake is cool, but his limitations are lower.
