Do you have sleeping gas?
There really isn't a quick way to gain its trust, it would probably take a few days. The best way is to just lay out some food/milk and set it away from you. Don't really make any moves towards it, just let it eat.
Each time you give it food move a little closer and take the food back in when you're done. Eventually you'll get close enough where you can attempt to touch it but like I said, it will take a while.
Actually, you can buy some of the tranquilizers pet groomers often use on their more water-averse clients, and hide some of them in a bit of tuna or whatnot (please read the directions VERY carefully, though). With the proper dosage, the cat will become drowsy enough that catching it should no longer be a problem.
Drugs: the best solution to everything ever.

Food is your best bet. Take it very slowly. Food that it can smell is a good idea (like meat, cats love meat). Not all cats like milk, but many do.
If you leave food out simply around your porch it will become more accustomed to your house's environment, which can be half the battle. At least you don't have to worry about it hurting you much when you try and catch it cause it is a kitten. If you can lure it into your house, you are pretty much set, but that would mean isolating your dog in another room.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
