Forums - Sales - In a world without xbox

I was under the impression that MS go into the console business to keep Sony from dominating the living room, not the home office.

It would look far better, I still think they should gtfo... if not the first XBox the Gamecube would sell better (and it deserves those sales, unlike the box), and if it did, we could see a truly different console from Nintendo. Anyway, I would prefer Microsoft not to get in.

Now this is what i call "angular thinking", sorry dude those corners are too sharp for me.

Simple no MS, We would have a $500.00 PS3 still cause it would be selling much better since WII is the only alternative and hardcore gamers at this time dont want a WII.

PS Home wouldnt exist at this time would take another 5 years

If you like MS or not having them around to keep sony in check is a good thing. Sony was getting awfully arrogant back in the PS2 days cause they controlled the market.

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

Oh please. Gamecube was crap. If nintendo released the xbox it would have sold way more than gamecube. Had microsoft released the gamecube it would have sold nothing.  the only reason gamecube was competitive is because it had Nintendo name on it and nintendo games to sell the console, and it still came in dead last.

Its the only console last gen without DVD player, hard drive and without any sort of online apart form 2-3 games.

Ps3 would be outselling the Wii...Maybe.

I agree PS3 might be outselling the WII but is that good to have sony in such a dominant postion

Without Xbox, there would be no console wars and fanboys going crazy in message boards. The way I see it, as soon as the 360 launched first to stick it to Nintendo and Sony, that was when the console wars officially started (in my eyes). IDK if any of ya listen to rap, but MS is like 50 cent IMO. When 50 cent came out he sold a ton more than his competitors and pretty much got the fans to start looking at album sales to see who sold the most, and he started alot of beef with other rappers. the 360 came out a year ahead and sold alot more than it's competitors at the time and got all the fanboys to look at the sales numbers (I'm pretty sure that ppl looked at it before, but it's not as widespread as it is now, I know I wouldn't be here now) and created beef with other console makers (especially with Sony because of their "stealing exclusives" plan)

On the other hand, without Xbox, there would prolly be no Hard drives for any console and their online service would not be as good as it is now. Also, many games like Gears Of War and Halo would prolly not have existed.

Without the xbox would we have ever seen the seminal FPS, Halo?

I personally couldnt care less, but im sure somebody does, somewhere...

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

The internet would be a nicer place and FPS games would still be on PCs...

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I forgot... Halo would be the greatest Mac game ever ... damn Microsoft for buying Bungie!!!
