| student said: What bothers me about all these news posts is that they always link the Wii and DS into a group. In truth, the DS is what's really demolishing the charts in Japan. Besides the high attach rate, the Wii isn't doing as good. For instance, there are only 3 games in the top 20. However, the article points out that between the DS and Wii, Nintendo has 15 of the top 20. It tends to be misleading when combined. The wii is doing good, but I think it still could do even better with more (good) software support. |
Be glad they ain't. It gives the competition a chance to make some presence. It's inevitable that once Wii tightens the grip there will no be nowhere for the other consoles to go. Nintendo domination is already apparent in Japan. When Wii inevitably improves in supply (allowing more games to be sold since more people can find the system) it's basically all over for any other competitor in the Japanese market.
These little gaps give a little leeway for others to get notice on the charts so be thankful. Remember, you're just looking at the beginning of the WiiDS Phenomenon.
