What do those iTrackr numbers mean anyway? They tell you zero about sellthrough. For sales numbers just wait for NPD.
They give you an idea on how many stores in the country actually have PS3s. It tells you nothing about actual sales numbers except that PS3s are in fact selling. Itrackr only looks at Circuitcity, Gamestop, and Target, I think, so it definitely doesn't take all the major retailers into account, but again, it gives you an idea on availibility of PS3s.
Sony's shipments seemed to slow down earlier this month, but it seems they've been ramped back up, probably because they're no longer air shipping them to America as someone mentioned above. Itrackr has PS3 national availibility up to 56% now. Perfect timing for another shipment considering all the releases for the next 6 weeks.
My Top 5:
Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger
My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii
Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.
