PS3 FTW! Surprised that PS3 outsold the 360 even with those 'shortages'. It's great seeing this. Come my brothers, and make love to your PS3.

Well not overall obviously, since adjustments are made, but you gotta admit the 360 was waaay overtracked this month. 310k vs 205k. Close to 50% difference.

 

 

Uhm ok but you forgot that VGC numbers include Canada and that is around 10% of the sales.  So you have to compare 280k vs 205k still a gap but not 50%

True, I forgot about that. But then that skews the PS3 numbers even more doesn't it?? +/- 25% is not a good estimate any way you slice it.

You have to understand. This is forum has a huge fan base of Xbox / Nintendo fans. A majority of them also being under 15 years old. Many of the predictions and assumptions are based solely on fanboyism. Its disappointing to see.

I am a Nintendo fan, and I willl agree most of the active posters on here are firstly on the Nintendo side of the fence.... but by a long way there are a lot more Sony fans here than Xbox fans.

And regarding your age estimate.... I think you may be thinking of the majority of other gaming websites.... this website probably has one of the oldest (averaged) ages of gaming forums.... and I can't think of more than 3 or 4 posters under 15 (one of them is a PS3 fan, 2 are Wii fans)

@konnichiwa: 310k is without Canada. NA vgchartz number for 360 is 343,567. So the difference really is around 50%.

Totally agree. I think we average around 22, and I know more who are 35+ then 16-.

 




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

No, since only one person makes the estimates, this reasoning is dumb.

 

I'm talking about audience reaction not estimates.  The estimates are based on a formula that guesstimates from a sample. (I'm totally assuming this.)

The only solid conclusion I have from these figures (assuming they ARE correct), is that MS is in BIG trouble in NA.

Maybe with the price cut, 360s were also supply constrained (clearing inventory).

...

The other big issue, is the difference between NPD & VG on the 360 figures - the rest are close enough to be within some form of error margin.

Otherwise, its Nintendomination as usual. The difference now, is they are taking over the software charts as well.

Hmm.. No-one seems to look how close VGchartz was with the PS3 figures.
