I subscribe to the theory that, as a gamer, we should hope that all great games go multiplat, because the more people who play them, the better. |
so do you think little big planet should go multiplatform ?? oh yea what am i talkin about no other system than the ps3 could handle such data !!
better yet lets release a mgs4 on the wii !! im sure it wont explode!!

The death of multiplatform games would be the death of HD gaming, with the market being what it currently is.

Not really. Last Gen did just fine when majority of games were exclusive to there respective systems. That is why I believe last gen games were of a better quality.
This gen games ARE more exspensive to make, this is true. But MultiPlat is not the only way to go in recouping losses. That is what shovelware is for(Wii anyone?). It is ok to have the year around games be multi, as they usually don't have as much money put into them. Liscense games are an example of these, they sale farely well(as bad as they actually are) and are a proven area of cash flow. It is the BIG titles I dont want MultiPlat (FFXIII,Halo3, GOW3,GeOW2,R2) as these are the masterpieces of gaming. They are the type of games people wait YEARS for. Going MultiPlatform takes away the magic, and full spec quality of these titles. At least that is what I believe.
A multiplatform game cannot use full specs of a console due to developers always doing them best to make all encomposing titles "Equal" to keep rabid fanbases at bay.

thats so true. People today just want to gimp certain companies out of there promised sales. You say its better if all games were multiplatform cuz "it widens the fanbase" but what you are really thinking is " if all games were multiplatform I wouldn't have to buy more than one system, YAY!" which is selfish.
Yes, these console's are exspensive, they all are bidding for our money. Why should they not have the chance to show what they can do in full force without being hindered by the competition? 360,PS3,and Wii all have certain areas of expertise and they should be allowed to take advantage of them wit EXCLUSIVE games, not this multiplat "nit pick who's is better" Bull Sh*t.

OK. I still don't understand your point. |
Your trying to say if FFXIII went multiplatform why cant versus? Your trying to imply that spin offs dont matter at all or as much as the orginal...

You make it sound like a minor thing.
How many games were anywhere close to 30-100mill last gen?

That's true though. Spin-offs don't matter as much as the main games. In Versus's case, it's likely going to have the same budget as FF XIII and the only reason they made FF XIIO multiplatform is so they can get more MONEY. When Versus and FF XIII are similar, there's no reason to keep Versus exclusive when there's more money to be made on the PS3 and 360 than the PS3 alone. |
| Soriku said: @forevercloud I don't understand you. The PS3 version of FF XIII isn't going to be gimped at all...so why are you complaining? It's going to be the SAME EXACT thing as it was going to be even if it was exclusive. Now more people can get to play the "magical" game you call these big exclusives. Also, companies won't make shovelware/crappy spin-offs on the Wii forever so how are they going to recoup losses? Right, they're going to make games multiplatform. |
well let me scratch ur brain for u then !! its not about wether there gonna be the same or not we know that already !! its juss that the devolopers arent gonna take advantage of special features for any of the two consoles now , it had potential to be great , now its juss gonna be good

Wait a tic... I thought they were set in different worlds but are bound to the same myth about crystals. Someone likened the idea to first few books of the New Testament of the Bible. The are all based upon the same idea, but a different persons take on the idea.
