Forums - Microsoft - Why the Newton controller has dropped off the scene

Why is this? I can still see a way to implement this w/ the 360 and compete with the Wii.  I knoe this is a flamy subject  but why has MSFT it been off the radar?  Has it been scrapped?

Around the Network

While it may or may not have ever existed in R&D, it was never going to be released for 360. And it never will be.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Compete with the Wii.....ha!

Maybe they are saving it for their next console to appeal to casuals?

It was probably just a rumor to get hits on a website that the internet ran away with.

Around the Network

They may be saving it for TGS. Microsoft is so desperate for Japanese gamers, it really wouldn't surprise me that they'd be there trying to catch the Japanese developers that are finally starting to warm up to the Wii by showing off an X-mote of their own while aggressively pointing to sales spikes caused by occasionals RPGs.

didn't they have a game that has a motion controlled microphone?

i thought that was it?

because the pictures that we saw of the newton, are we even sure those were real?
