Forums - Nintendo - Did Nintendo Screw Lucasarts with Wii motion plus?

@Viper

Because this is Wii and not many in the Media outlets know how to put out a story without drama or emotion being involved. Also negativity sparks clicks.

Heres a little something:

PS3 failed = Xbox camp gets loud 85% Wii camp get loud 15%
Xbox failed = Ps3 camp gets loud 90% Wii camp gets loud 10%
Wii failed = Wii ccamp gets loud 40% Xbox camp 26% and Ps3 camp 34%

I've also noted that the viral marketing for Xbox360 has come to a halt as far as the Wii stories go that lead into getting an Xbox 360.

The information above are strictly fake and have nothing to do not reflect anything.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

Except no one cares about motion+, a feature we thought we were getting when we all bought that POS Wii

That post didn't exactly add a lot to the conversation.

Anyway, Nintendo didn't tell LA. Dunno why. However, the device wouldn't have been out until well after the game was released anyway.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

If the Motion Plus was ready for development a month or more before E3, then I could say Nintendo should have released it sooner. If it was less than a month (with such little content in Resort shown), it wouldn't have made much difference.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

They didn't launch the product to the general public at E3, they unveiled it for everyone. They were saying at E3 it was going to be a few weeks before they had the thing ready to hand off to developers still.

This is like a horribly cheesy movie:

Bob: [Witnesses Joe's girlfriend cheating on him, and goes to tell Joe]
Bob: "Hey Joe! Your girlfriend is cheating on you!"
Joe: "HOW COULD YOU NOT TELL ME ABOUT THIS!!!"
Bob: "Uhm...I just did?"
Joe: "Why do you hate me?"
Bob: "What the hell are you talking about?"
Joe: [crying] "Fine! Be that way!"

Honestly considering they are saying it won't be ready until 2009 and their past statements about not bringing out information on their products until its close to release I think its a good chance this was a last minute addition to the show because of possibile competing products.  Didn't anyone think it was weird that they only had like 3 games to demo?

It wouldn't make much difference, they would have had to delay the release of Star Wars: Unleashed until motion + came out in 2009, it's a false issue

Devs still have a minimum of 6 months if they what to implement it in any other game.. more than enough time for one control feature

nintendo should've told some devs about motion+, sometimes their secretiveness is too much.

i've been going to kotaku for a while now and every time luke plunkett posts a story about nintendo its always negative, i have yet to see him write something good about nintendo.

Actually, they told a lot of devs about it.   I've talked to several myself.

Those that weren't told yet either had no product in the pipeline or were so far into the product development that the peripheral wouldn't be implemented in time for release.

QFT, controls are a late stage adjustment.  If they can get the kits from Nintendo and add it to the game now they can launch the game without WMP and have it in place when WMP launches.  They could then partner with Nintendo on the launch of WMP and relaunch the game if they wanted to...might actually be a good business move honestly.

ouch those guys must have been pissed.

Sometimes it seems like all advancements in technology only happen so we may one day have a 1:1 lightsaber game.

They shouldn't be upset. This gives them an excuse to make another lightsaber game. I'm actually hoping they do. I really don't like the look of the Clone Wars characters. I'd much prefer new characters/storylines for a Motion Plus game.

delay and re-tool Light saber duels then.

Because if the Wii version of Force Unleashed is delayed then it will bombed due to the other versions being released earlier.

If they delay Clone Wars then it won't be out in time for the movie.

Also, Lucas Arts already spent a lot of money on developing the games with the original controls.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
