Forums - Nintendo - What's Nintendo working at?

I think Nintendo itself wasn't sure Wii would be this successful, thus didn't plan loads of games at the beginning. Now that the Wii is very successful they are gonna make AAA games for their franchises but that takes years to develop and we are just in year 2 of the Wii.

So them saying they will just announce games around when they come out means, they don't have much to show at that time and stalling for time till they make those games.

When developers don't have much coming they ain't releasing 3 huge games (Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Wii Fit) in the very same period lol.

I'm actually happy that they ain't releasing more games I'm interested in this year. I'll finally have time to play all the great titles I have left to play on the Wii: MP3, SSBB, Zack & Wiki, Bloom Blox.

I really do not understand the impatience from so many of my fellow gamers. How can wanting something for years make it any better? Normally it turns out worse when something is known for such a long time due to the impatience factor.

I say roll with the punches and enjoy the games as they come out.

While you're right on an intellectual level, I have to admit that anticipation can be part of the fun as well. I still remember tuning in every day to the Smash Dojo just to see what new tidbit we'd be graced with, because it was fun to keep myself hyped about Brawl. Similarly, it's nice to know something's coming, so that you can look forward to it.

I guess it all comes down to being able to "savor" what's coming. Mind you, the new strategy of "here's Wario Land, a 2D console platformer...that's coming out next week" is pretty awesome in its own right, but it's so novel that it'll take a while for it to really sink in for many of us. Until it does, please forgive our impatience.

Edit: And goodnight Trestres. Just remember, things rarely seem as bleak in the morning.

I get into information overload at times with so many games to pay attention to.  I do understand your point about anticipation.  I am the kind that waits until a game is 20-30 at most before making a purchase.  Just different attitudes.  Nothing to forgiove.  :)
