Forums - Nintendo - What's Nintendo working at?

No, rolstoppable, they are not. They are ignoring their loyal fans. You know there's plenty of hardcore games coming for the Wii from 3rd parties.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Trestres, why are you so doom and gloom? Do you need a tissue?

The games will come, it's just that Nintendo are letting 3rd parties in on some MAJOR pieces of their hogged up pie. i mean, final fantasy didn't start off selling HUGE with the 1st iteration. They had to build up on the Nes which then got carried to the Ps1. It then became huge.

Grand Theft Auto wasn't an overnight celebrity either.

I just say, calm down. Overlord has been announced. Conduit, madworld, sonic and the black knight. Many more will follow. Just stop acting like sadsacks.

For once I want Nintendo themselves to announce something, we have tons of great 3rd party games coming up. I can't say the same for Nintendo.

Nah, they ain't. We already know Pikmin's inbound, Retro's been chugging away on something, Zelda and Mario are both being developed as we speak, and Disaster is still en route, as are the two Treasure-developed Wii games. And these are just the traditional Nintendo-published Wii games that we know about: this does not include such rumored titles as Punch-Out! or Kid Icarus.

So don't worry so much: by this time next year, you'll have forgotten all about this Fall (although speaking personally, I'm still quite pleased with this Fall myself).

I really do not understand the impatience from so many of my fellow gamers. How can wanting something for years make it any better? Normally it turns out worse when something is known for such a long time due to the impatience factor.

I say roll with the punches and enjoy the games as they come out.

OK I'll drop it here. I know games are coming, so I won't worry too much. My main complaint is the announcement policy, nothing else.

Good night now :D

While you're right on an intellectual level, I have to admit that anticipation can be part of the fun as well. I still remember tuning in every day to the Smash Dojo just to see what new tidbit we'd be graced with, because it was fun to keep myself hyped about Brawl. Similarly, it's nice to know something's coming, so that you can look forward to it.

I guess it all comes down to being able to "savor" what's coming. Mind you, the new strategy of "here's Wario Land, a 2D console platformer...that's coming out next week" is pretty awesome in its own right, but it's so novel that it'll take a while for it to really sink in for many of us. Until it does, please forgive our impatience.

Edit: And goodnight Trestres. Just remember, things rarely seem as bleak in the morning.

The official announcements so far are:

Wii:

Wii Music, Wii Sports: Resort, Animal Crossing: City Folk and Captain Rainbow.

DS:

Kirby Superstar Ultra and Pokemon Platinum.

I think that Nintendo is much more capable of doing more than 6 titles at a time, considering they have like 30 developing teams (including 2nd and exclusive 3rd party devs).

After October 2008, the only game announced from Nintendo will be Wii Sports: Resort, considering that the development of the mentioned games has ended, and only localization is needed (no need for the original team to translate text)

Isn't about time they announce something? I'm nervous right now about that retarded 1 month before it launches policy... What the hell?

Zelda team is working on the next zelda

Mario Team is working on the next Mario

Pikmin 3 is under development

- That much has been confiirmed

@Soriku: Yea but wouldn't you want to know what is it that they are working in? Nintendo wasn't like this before and being like this doesn't help anyone, not the fans nor Nintendo.

I'm a hardcore Nintendo fan, therefore if I only know about 1% of the games they are making how can I be excited for Nintendo anymore? It's the only company that hides everything from its fans. I liked them more in the GC era.

And when will those announcements take place? TGS nop, Leipzig, nop, E3 nop.

Sure...but when they're released years later and everyday we're literally SCRAPPING for info don't you think that's kinda...bad? I mean look at games like TP. Every single time it got delayed we got so many moans. Do you want that to happen or have them give all this info just months before release and we're satisfied every day?

And as for when they'll make the announcements, they'll likely have their own event like last year. Last year their E3 was considered crap ebcause all they really showed was Wii Fit, and they weren't at TGS or Leipzig. Instead, they had their own event where they showed of all their hardcore games AND made the big MH3 announcement. They also gave the Wii a decent firmware update that day.

When did they had their own event? Will they do it again this year? If they do show us more core games I may have some faith in them...

Clam ur horses we know they are working on a new zelda game and a new mario game. watch their conference e3 08.

What's with the FUD again?

The games are coming it's not like they would stop making games, and even if they did you'll still have 3rd parties to look forward to... as disappointing as some of their... most of their games are; they still have a few gems here and there...

Ya know Capcom really does get away with murder... they've managed to charge Wii audience $50 for two games that Wii owners that bought those games could of gotten for $20... and now they are releasing a 3rd game to do the exact same thing...... oh well.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.
