How dare you blame lego games! Noooo!

I blame all the casual fads for the wii and also the fact that the PS3 may have penetrated the market at the price of £299.99. Needs at least a £50 price-cut. The 360, I dunno whats wrong with it. lol.
End of '08 predictions (made by theprof00): PS3: 20m, 360: 23.5m, wii: 42m
Now Playin': PS3|Resistance 2, LBP, Uncharted and Fifa 09, PSP| Ratchet and Clank: Size matters, 360| Gears of war 2 and Fallout 3.
Europe is casual land which is why big reason why PS2 did so well in Europe and why Pro Evolution sells so well every single year. Also the reason why Mario Kart is completely crushing Brawl in Europe even though we all know Brawl is the better game (yes Larry Lion and Roland you both know).
With only 1 casual current gen console it is not suprising that Wii is crushing its competitors.

Well 25% of it is the UK, which is where most of the hardcore sales are, so the whole place aint a casual market. And PES sells so well because we are so nuts about football
Alot of excuses being made by the Sony community here. While I'm not dissagreeing with a number of the factors that have lead to this shift alot of people seem to be trying to spin this as a temporary measure.
I don't see this turning around, the DS is a powerhouse in Europe and the Wii, having now proved itself as something that is here to stay, has become the viable home console of choice.

Most people aren't suggesting that the PS3 is even close to the wii at the moment (maybe when GT 5 launches for a bit...) but it is more the comparison with the Xbox that concerns me, with sales drawing ever closer, I think that the launch of the 80GB (which GAME have moved forward to next friday) should help turn this trend around. Having the DS 3 should give it a larger boost than the 60GB Xbox
I personally feel part of this Wii turnaround has been that they've finally managed to get a reasonable level of stock into the market.
The demand for the Wii has always been there, the stock just hasn't.
Couple this with some 'interesting' decisions by Sony in PAL land (MSG4 bundle at €439 instead of a more logical €399, intermittent stock issues all around the MSG4 launch) and you have some good reasons.
Basically (IMHO) the PS3 is hitting a wall because it's too highly priced (it's over twice the price of an Xbox 360 Arcade by now because Sony only seems to supply the bundles and not the standalones) and the Wii is only now beginning to fulfill it's demand because Nintendo is shipping more in.
I believe PS3 will swing back up... but right now it needs some more exclusives and good titles releasing in a steady stream. Nothing too awesome has released for a while now, and of course with the economic downturn more expensive goods show the impact first.
I also note that even with a really low price point (Arcade) 360 doesn't seem to be getting any sales from PS3 - i.e. people are putting off getting a PS3 but aren't getting a cheaper 360 instead.
Assuming PS3 does pick up I doubt it can pass Wii unless interest in the console suddenly dies, while 360 I think is sure to be in third place in Others as I see little now to really turn the consoles fortunes around as really if the demand was there with the current Arcade price and games library it should be selling way more... I just don't think the higher demand MS needs is actually there.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
